A Grand Day Out with Wallace and Gromit, later marketed as A Grand Day Out, is a 1989 British stop-motion animated short film directed and animated by Nick Park at Aardman Animations in Bristol. In the film, Wallace and Gromit spend a bank holiday by building a homemade rocket to the Moon to sample cheese.
The short premiered on November 4 1989, at the Bristol Animation Festival at the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol. It was first broadcast on December 24 1990, Christmas Eve, on Channel 4.

- Wallace: Eee, these bank holidays. It's a problem to decide. Tell you what, Gromit lad!
- [Gromit wakes up]
- Wallace: Let's have a nice hot cup of tea, hm? [walks out of the room] Kettle should have boiled by now.
- Wallace: No cheese, Gromit. Not a bit in the house.
- Wallace: Gromit, that's it! Cheese! We'll go somewhere where there's cheese!
- [Wallace looks at "Cheese Holidays" magazine, then out window]
- Wallace: Everybody knows the moon is made of cheese...
- Wallace: 60 seconds to blast off! Unlock the doors!
- Wallace: No crackers Gromit! We've forgotten the crackers!
- [Wallace is eating the moon]
- Wallace: I don't know, lad. It's like no cheese I've ever tasted. Let's try another spot.
- [The machine doesn't work]
- Wallace: Come on, stupid...
- [pulls off a part of the machine]
- Wallace: [slightly stunned] Oh!
- Wallace: [referring to "The Cooker"] Oh! Daylight robbery! They always nick your money. Flippin' machines. Come on, Gromit.
- Wallace: Oh no! Oh! The fuse! You forgot to light the fuse! Ah!
- Wallace: Set coordinates for 62 West Wallaby Street.
