• تيتي تيتي مثل ما رحتي جيتي
  • Literal meaning: titi titi, just as you went you came.
• من برة إشيّ إشيّ ومن جوة خرق محشي
  • Literal meaning: from outside "wow, wow" and from inside it's stuffed with rags.
  • Metaphorical meaning: it looks good from the outside but it's actually not.

He makes a dome out of a grain. Meaning: He worries about a small problem as if it is a big one.

  • Today is wine, and tomorrow is an assignment. Today we will drink wine, and tomorrow we will work hard.
  • Today wine, tomorrow is another problem. Tonight is for drinking and tomorrow we will see what the matter is.
  • This is an historical word it's context is a man drinking with his guest and then come the news that his father was killed by the father of his guest, his friends ask him to kill his guest as a vengeance act but he reply "Today is is wine and tomorrow I ll act". Because Arabic culture give a very big importance to respect and well treat guest

  • Literal meaning: Better be single all your life than be a widow for a month.

  • Literal meaning: The end of the grape cluster. (Youngest child in a family)
• إذا عُرِفَ السبب بطل العجب
  • Literal meaning: When the reason is known, there will be no more wonder. (Said when you are wondering why something happened and then find out.)
• إذا فرغ الفؤاد ذهب الرقاد
  • Literal meaning: If the heart is empty, the rest will soon abandon you too.
