Quotes[edit]

I like traditional things. I like things of substance and value that have been proven.
It's hard to admit but it's easy to tell
That evil is alive and well.
There's only one thing that's certain
And that's everybody, everybody's hurting.
  • I see myself as a traditionalist … I like traditional things. I like things of substance and value that have been proven. Conceptually, as the songs started to come together, I followed that lead, which is the language I work in.

Seeing Things (2008)[edit]

  • It doesn't always have a shape,
Almost never does it have a name,
It maybe has a pitchfork, maybe has a tail,
But evil is alive and well.
  • When midnight's done, and the day won't start,
And all I ever gave you was a broken heart,
It's hard to admit but it's easy to tell
That evil is alive and well.
    • "Evil Is Alive And Well"
  • This kind of day
    Has no night

Ain't got much on my mind
Ain't got much on my mind

    'Cause I know
    Something good this way comes.

  • The trouble, doll
    Is not moving mountains, but
Digging the ground that you're on
    • "Something Good This Way Comes"
  • Got my window open wide
Got a good woman by my side

I got a good woman by my side

    'Cause I know
    Something good this way comes.

    • "Something Good This Way Comes"

Women + Country (2010)[edit]

  • We're off the script
    We're off the lease
We can't catch any decent sleep
    We don't live here anymore
    • "We Don’t Live Here Anymore"
  • If God is working I wish He’d say so
Maybe He don’t live here anymore
    • "We Don’t Live Here Anymore"
  • I'm here on the blacktop, the sun in my eyes
Women and Country on my mind
    • "Nothing But The Whole Wide World"
  • There's only one thing that's certain
    And that's everybody, everybody's hurting
    • "Everybody's Hurting"
