Robert Ley (February 15 1890October 25 1945) was a Nazi German politician and head of the German Labor Front from 1933 to 1945. While awaiting trial for war crimes, on October 25, four days after receiving the indictment, Ley committed suicide by strangling himself in his cell, using a noose made by tearing a towel into strips, fastened to the toilet pipe in his cell.
