Sai Baba of Shirdi (in the Ahmednagar district) or Shirdi Sai Baba (circa 1838 - 1918-10-15; his real name, birthplace and date of birth are unknown) was an Indian guru and fakir who is regarded by his Hindu and Muslim followers as a saint. In his life and teachings he tried to embrace and reconcile both faiths: he lived in a mosque, was buried in a Hindu temple, embraced Hindu and Muslim practices and taught using words and figures that drew from both traditions.

Sai baba preached unity is the strength. He is believed to be reincarnation of Gurudev Dutta. Others believe him of Khandoba. He never claimed that he is the reincarnation of anyone. He just believed in one religion which was of love. Sai name was first came from Mahalsapati - a priest at Khandoba Temple in Shirdi when he saw Baba coming to Shirdi.

A Hindu temple of Lord Krisha was built under his guidance. He later was buried in that temple. Since then millions of pilgrims have visited Shirdi to take blessings of their beloved Baba.
