A strange article in its present state[edit]

Granted, this is Wikiquote and not Wikipedia, this is still a rather strange article to read in its present state. Large sections of text are in boldface with no explanation, not even in hidden text. Common words with no other significance such as best, houses, and hunger are Wikiquote linked.

  • While I expected excerpts listed in bullets, I didn't expect
    • the character being quoted in sub-bulleted lists.

For all this, I have but one question: why???

Because there is no consensus on the use of boldface in quotes and we use a free link style. Rupert Loup 10:11, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. It seems that someone previously tried to remove some of the boldface, but then it was reverted, stating it was being used as a form of highlighting. While I can accept the highlighting, my point is that it's been used excessively here, in my opinion to the extent of unreasonable... but I'm not prepared to do anything about it without first being more familiar with the material.
The bulleted lists, that will definitely need to change, so I'll have to revisit that in the future. I'm having a rather awkward time on Wikiquote, as I'm used to editing on Wikipedia, but a lot of the functions aren't shared with Wikiquote.
