Ambiguous quote[edit]

I'm confused about the quote (currently the only one in this article) that begins: "Doomed to total failure…". Is this a quote by Webern about Stravinsky, or a quote by Stravinsky about Webern? This should be made clear. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 17:09, 4 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's supposedly a quote by Stravinsky, concerning Webern, although I've never seen a source... What I want to know is why it's under the header 'Criticism.' —This unsigned comment is by 70.234.200.133 (talkcontribs) .

The term "criticism" is used to mean discussion or review, whether positive or negative. It is confusing because it is also used specifically to mean "disparagement." I have substituted a heading often used to avoid this ambiguity. ~ Ningauble 14:30, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Marxist quote from Taruskin[edit]

This is Schenker, not Webern, and has been removed.
