I've removed the following quote: (Charlie is cleaning Willy Wonka's shoes and Wonka believes that Charlie does not know he is Wonka, as his head is behind a newspaper)
Willy Wonka: Wow, Wonka sales are going down.
Charlie: I know.
Willy Wonka: That Wonka must be upset. You ever met him?
Charlie: Once. I thought he was cool, but now I think he's awful. He also has a bad hair cut.
Willy Wonka (putting his paper down in anger): I do not!!!

It's not what was actually said. The IMDB has a closer version, but I don't think that's right either - it seems to be missing a few lines:

Willy Wonka: [hiding behind a newspaper while Charlie shines his shoes] Too bad about that chocolate guy. Walter... er, Waldo...

Charlie Bucket: Willy Wonka.

Willy Wonka: Right, him. Did you ever meet him? Charlie Bucket: I met him. I thought he was great at first. Then he didn't turn out that nice. And he has a funny haircut. Willy Wonka: [throwing the newspaper down] I do not!

I'm not sure what the policy is on matters like these, so I've just left it out. Was that the right decision? --82.32.56.142 22:42, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiquote's general policy is to strive for accuracy in quotes, verifiable by checking identified sources. If you aren't sure about the wording of a quote, I would recommend waiting until you can buy or rent the DVD so you can verify it. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 02:01, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the thing goes like this...

Willy Wonka: [hiding behind a newspaper while Charlie shines his shoes] Pity about that chocolate fellow. Wendell... or, Walter... Charlie Bucket: Willy Wonka.

Willy Wonka: That's the one. Says here in the paper his new candies aren't selling very well, but I suppose maybe he's a rotten egg who deserves it.

Charlie Bucket: Yep.

Willy Wonka: Oh really? You ever met him?

Charlie Bucket: I did. I thought he was great at first, but then he didn't turn out so nice. He also has funny hair cut.

Willy Wonka: [throwing the newspaper down] I do not!
