[edit] Quote sources
I applaud MECU's use of citation templates for sources in this article, but it doesn't make some of those sources any more reliable or meaningful. About.com's Quotation pages do not include any provenance for their quotes, and so are not even proper secondary sources. While I respect "Quotations" editor Simran Khurana's efforts, I wish she would include such information to allow us to use this otherwise valuable source. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 15:48, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm a newbie to the quotes, and want to know if I list several non-secondary sources, if that would bolster the support for an article's citation? Or is only a first or second-level source going to quash the citation bug? --MECU 02:13, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

- The way I like to put it is that inadequate sources are essentially rumor. Lots and lots of rumor still isn't confirmation. The "telephone game" is a great demonstration of how easy it is for human beings to mis-hear, misread, and misremember information, and it was popular entertainment for this reason long before the Internet made it possible for inaccurate information to be disseminated thoroughly across the globe in minutes. Sorry 'bout that, Chief. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 12:22, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
