|This article needs to conform to our limits on quotations policy.
The subject of this article is a film, and as a result, there should only be: five quotes per hour (about one quote every 12 minutes).
If you would like to add another quote to the page, you may first need to remove one that is already there in order to keep within the bounds of fair use of copyright material.
Quotes Limit
I am curious as to how close this film's Wikiquote really is to the limit for a 93-minute film. Previous edits have been reverted on the grounds of "LOQ Trim", indicating this page had gone over the quotes limit. But now, a quick glance at more recent hack-and-slash deletions of user edits has been done with the excuse "unjustified restoration of unnecessary edit". That sounds a LOT less like enforcing the rules and a LOT more like "I don't like how you wrote that, so I'm gonna get rid of it entirely and replace it with what I had before". Not okay.
Oh, a quick glance up and down this Wikiquote page's edit history will show that every user other than Eaglestorm has had a real hard time making any edit last here. Apparently, maybe even as far back as 2006, he staked out pages like this one as his and has been patrolling them, unchallenged by anyone in authority on this website, ever since. Also not okay. Much, much less okay than the first thing, in fact.
No free country- or website- has ever been or ever will be founded or sustained on a ruthless, uncompromising enforcement of every rule in the book. It's about time Eaglestorm learned that.(18.104.22.168 15:53, 6 March 2012 (UTC))
- Regardless of thoughts on quote limits, the continued edit-warring on this page (which seems to not so much be about the number of quotes, but rather the selection of quotes - and I actually believe its current incarnation, as selected by the above user is the best selection of quotes for the film) is not very productive. As such, I've protected the page for a day to just provide a pause in the battle. ~ UDScott (talk) 01:50, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
- Excellent, well-chosen words. Thank you. I would greatly appreciate it if you would continue to monitor the situation. I'm afraid it will only continue if something more isn't done. (22.214.171.124 02:11, 7 March 2012 (UTC))
