I am unsure of Thomer's notability. ~ MosheZadka (Talk) 20:23, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
- Google returns a few dozens of other pages which quote it, mostly by people who found this quote to be cool and use it as their signature etc. - and all are either unsourced or sourced to this Thomer/"vi lovers" website - so it's probably the original. Even if the author wasn't notable, the quote itself is very "notable" :) I don't think that in this case we're setting a precedent that might lead to unintended side-effects, because the "vi lovers" website seems to be popular (3rd on google when searching for "vi"), and this particular quote is perhaps a reason for its popularity. But in general we might want to have a more clear policy regarding notable authors vs notable quotes, and anonymous authors. Anyway, in this case I see no reason not to be liberal and keep this quote. Personally I'd be liberal in this regard in scenarios that are less clear than this one. iddo999 14:08, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
