[edit] Structuring of article

Some great quotes but maybe we should have brief 'proper biography' to start with? (yeah yeah I know we're all good little anarchists and we don't need to follow no stinking conformist plan... but a brief life story might be good... Emma Goldman looks like she ended up American but I think was born in Lithuania - it would be nice to tell people how that happened...). Or is this for wikipedia? Wikipedia article is pretty good - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_Goldman -- 201.50.254.243 11:48, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

My feelings exactly. Biography first, then a FEW select quotes. Either that, or start including extensive quotes or readings from every notable book and person (not).

There seems to be some confusion existing in at least the first and third comments above. This is Wikiquote, where the aim is to collect quotes, not to provide any extensive commentary or biography. As the 2nd statement indicates, Wikipedia already does that quite well. We have a different function — to present notable quotes by notable people or from notable works. ~ Kalki 04:38, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
