[edit] Last words
What were his last words? Please see Talk:Famous last words#Inconsistency with Franz Ferdinand. jni 07:08, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I've revised both quotes and added a third, based on what I found in three references that I've cited. Each provided a slightly different version of the two sets of the Archduke's last words. "Sopherl" was quoted in Archduke of Sarajevo and The Secrets of Sarajevo, and I suspect this has been translated into "Sophie dear" by many, including Last Words. Two of the three say "our children" (the other says "the children"). I've added what I believe is the original German, based somewhat unscientifically on a pattern of close matches on various websites (apparently German speakers are no better than English speakers in getting exact quotes correct), likely extrapolations from the English translations, and my own faulty capacity in German, supplemented by some Babelfish experimentation. For FF's exclamation to the Mayor, I used the version quoted in Secrets. I was unable to find any reference to the original German, so I felt completely unable to provide a likely original. (For all I know, it was spoken in Serbian.) — Jeff Q (talk) 21:36, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Looks like fake quotes.
"It is a good thing that I am immortal and cannot die, or I would be more upset."
-The Ferdinator
"I will put a spell on you so that you may never eat toast again without your legs exploding, for I am a most powerful witch." - The Ferdster
Do we have {{citation needed}}? --Aphaia 02:03, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, but I agree they seem unlikely to be attributed to him. I removed them, thanks for heading up! --Aphaia 02:05, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
