Second quote

Gee, isn't that second quote in the Book of Mormon section a bit, um, long? --Frecklefoot 14:17, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Can anyone verify the quote "I teach them correct principles, and they govern themselves?" If so, how early is it? I know it is repeated incredibly frequently in the LDS church, but I have never seen a Joseph Smith-contemporary record of it. --128.187.41.31 06:17, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Let's try to not make this a personal discussion.

If you do any research you will find that most of Joseph Smith's quoted words are actually recorded in journals of those who were in attendance. So in order to find when and where he said this exact phrase you would need to do some research because why would a speaker record their words after they had spoken? Very impossible to record verbatim what they said.

Money digger changed to "miner?"

Not sure why someone changed the words "money digger" to "miner." I've checked two of the sources. Here is the text from "History of the Church," which I pulled from GospelLink:

Tenth—"Was not Joseph Smith a money digger?" Yes, but it was never a very profitable job for him, as he only got fourteen dollars a month for it. History of the Church Volume 3, p. 29
