"Last" words?[edit]

Could you really call it last words if the character doesn't die after saying them? Is last words the same as final lines in the movie? I think not. Last words are a person's/animal's/etc. (it's Disney) final words said prior to death. There are quite a few of those last-lines-in-the-movie types here so I'm just going ahead and removing them. Removed lines[edit]

These are final lines in the film, not last words, and have been removed:

  • Alright! You win! Get out of my sight!
    • Who: Yubaba
    • Source: Spirited Away (2002) (English dubbed by Disney)
    • Note: She didn't die. But, Chihiro broke the spell by her final test for turning pigs into people, and Yubaba gets so angry but Chihiro's final test finished.
  • Oh! You eel in snake's clothing!
    • Who: Prince John
    • Source: Robin Hood (1973)
    • Note: Says that Prince John's being a cry baby and tries to hit Sir Hiss. Although, they didn't die, but they were in jail with the Sheriff of Nottingham.
  • Help! He's gone stark raving MAAAD!!!
    • Who: Sir Hiss
    • Source: Robin Hood (1973)
    • Note: Says that after tells Prince John that what he's done to his mother's castle. Then Prince John tries to hit him. Although, they were in jail with the Sheriff of Nottingham.
  • (Dodo: Simply tie your tail around the monster's neck, and drag it out.) But-but gov'nr--! (Dodo: Good luck, Bill! {shoves Bill down the chimney})
    • Who: Bill (the lizard with a ladder)
    • Source: Alice in Wonderland (1951)
    • Note: In an attempt to have Alice (thought to be a monster after she had eaten a cookie that allows the eater to grow very large) driven out of the White Rabbit's house, the Dodo and the White Rabbit enlist Bill to go inside the house through the chimney to pull out the "monster" from inside. At first, Bill is reluctant, but as Dodo persuades Bill to go in when they reach the chimney, Bill spurts out this quote before being shoved down the chimney, causing dust to spread (making Alice sneeze Bill out), and he flies out of the chimney into the distance.
  • Oh, I don't feel so good! I feel a little... fluuuuuuushed!
    • Who: Hades
    • Source: Hercules (1997 film) (1997)
    • Note: Said to the souls that drag him down into River Styx after Hercules knocks him down there. (It should be remembered though that being a God, Hades technically can't die, as he's immortal, but given that he'll spend the rest of eternity at the bottom of the Styx, these are last words)
  • You idiots! You, you fools! Ah! You imbeciles!
    • Who: Cruella de Vil.
    • Source: One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961)
    • Note: After Cruella and her henchmen's cars collide, they crash at the bottom of a cliff. However, she did not die, so these words she said were actually her last lines in the film.
  • Ah, shut up.
    • Who: Jasper Badun
    • Source: One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961)
    • Note: Jasper Badun is one of Cruella de Vil's henchmen, along with Horace Badun. After Horace and Jasper's truck collides with Cruella's car, they crash at the bottom of the cliff. While Cruella is throwing a tantrum, Jasper blows her off, telling her to shut up. As with Cruella, Jasper did not die, either, but these are his last lines in the film.
  • Jasper!
    • Who: Horace Badun
    • Source: One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961)
    • Note: Horace Badun is one of Cruella de Vil's henchmen, along with Jasper Badun. Horace, out of hesitation, tries to get control of the wheel, but ends up pulling the steering wheel and its wires out, sending the truck colliding with Cruella's car and sending them all down the bottom of the cliff. Like Jasper, Horace survives, but this is his last line in the film.
  • You're going to Timbuktu if it's the last thing I do!
    • Who: Edgar the Butler.
    • Source: The AristoCats (1970)
    • Note: Said after he locks Duchess, O'Malley, and the kittens in a crate, ready to send them to Timbuktu. Then, the alley cats attack, freeing the kittens and knocking Edgar into the crate. He is then locked inside the crate, and then shipped to Timbuktu.
  • Stay out of this, you mangy fools!
    • Who: Shere Khan.
    • Source: The Jungle Book (1967)
    • Note: Said before Mowgli ties a flaming branch to his tail, causing him to run off into the distance. However, he does not die, so these words he said were actually his last lines in the film.
  • I hope you're happy, Sullivan, you've destroyed this company. Monsters, Incorporated is dead! Where will everyone get their screams now? The energy crisis will only gets worse... because of you!
    • Who: Henry J. Waternoose
    • Source: Monsters, Inc. (2001)
    • Note: Spoken when Waternoose is arrested by the C.D.A. who has turned on him.

What about Queen Athena's last words?

If anyone wants to create a page for final lines in a film, that's ok with me, just don't put those on this page. Thank you. Raisin56 03:30, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

These are not necessarily the last words in the film. I would say that these belong, if anywhere, on a page of "Fictional parting words". BD2412 T 16:58, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Um... Let's not. We already have an excess of last words that are not "famous last words". We really don't need to catalog opening and closing lines of dialogue. ~ Ningauble (talk) 13:41, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We already catalog opening lines - at Opening lines. However, the above lines don't even appear to be the last lines in their respective films. BD2412 T 04:10, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think this should be deleted[edit]

This article is leading to nothing but trouble (and persistent vandalism). Besides, if we want to see what these "last words" are, there's always the articles from their respective films. WikiLubber (talk) 21:49, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

They should also be deleted. However, I need to know how to place deletion tags. WikiLubber (talk) 20:35, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Users should be conservative when it comes to punctuation and CAPS LOCK (just to name a few), or the page would look like grayscale modern abstract art. That's why "over-emphasis" is said to be an issue. 68.174.38.77 03:10, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
