Talk:Little Richard

Quotes like "Your music has inspired me. You are the greatest. - Elvis Presley", "Little Richard is my idol. - James Brown", are after all claimed to be said by little richard himself, so can we remove them, because they aren't backed by 2nd source. I am not sure about this. I can't view the cited pp. 25–27 at GoogleBooks, but I assume you mean biographer Charles White reports that these quotes are attributed by Little Richard to Presley and Brown, respectively. These quotes also appear in the "Testimonials" chapter on pages 225–229 (pagination from the 2nd edition, 1994), none of which identify sources.

Personally, I am not keen on including lots of testimonials in Wikiquote because they often do not strike me as particularly quotable (e.g. this wikihagiography seems ridiculous to me) but, if we are going to go there, I am not sure these attributions reported by a notable biographer would be out of bounds. ~ Ningauble (talk) 14:12, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, as there's no admission by elvis, which would lead to any quote like this one, in fact Elvis released his records at least 1.5 years before little richard would. Justicejayant (talk) 07:23, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
