Talk:The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea
If you are here you probably are just as dissapointed in the sequel as I was. The fact is this was poor and I think anyone who bought the DVD should be given an apology. I am so against sequels because they ruin the memory of a good well written, well animated film. The little mermaid was really good there wasn't much dialogue because Ariel was mute for a period of time and the singing made up for a lot of it. Some of my favourite quotes would be
Ariel: Don't be such a guppy.
Triton: you could have been seen by one of those barbarians, one of those humans
Ariel: I'm sixteen years old I'm not a child
Ursula: And now look at me wasted away to practiculy nothing, banished, starving
The point is that this was a film that touch the hearts of many people. But then we hear there is a sequel. So you think that maybe it can just get better. The little mermaid two is all about Ariel who has married her Prince the dashing Prince Eric (who by the way doesn't really have a part or lines.) She is now celebrating the birth of her first child Melody. After meeting the halfwitted Morgona they decide Melody will never be safe in the sea and should never know of her mermaid past. They build a huge wall thinking this will keep her out. It doesn'yt take a genius to see she is able to get out. (I also find it strange she talks to fish but doesn't realise something weird is going on, but whatver.) She searches for shells(I don't know why) Then she happens upon a necklace. 212.219.106.50 14:00, 8 February 2006
