Most of what has been added clearly wasn't written by Percy. Shakespeare could scarcely have quoted something written by someone who lived 200 years later! For the poem I cited, I have a reference that he probably re-wrote it. Is there any such reference for these other poems?--Poetlister 13:52, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- The Percy quotes that I added are all from his 1919 Bartlett's page. Note that a "Compare" note does not necessarily imply that the other party copied the original author, but merely that the quotes are similar. However, since a number of references in Bartlett's use that language ("quoted by Shakespeare"), I left them as they were worded. This is pretty clearly a case of the "author" being the compiler of the quotes whose origin is otherwise unknown - I am open to any means of handling this, but the quotes carried forth from Bartlett's belong somewhere. - Could we have an article called "Percy's Reliques"?--Cato 22:40, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- That sounds like a perfect solution! BD2412 T 22:41, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. I'll see to it when I have time.--Poetlister 23:22, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
