Incomplete sources[edit]

The following quotes need to be properly sourced:

    • The builders of our capital are fully engaged in residential construction, and its labor force is deployed for that. Nobody has the intention to erect a wall.
    • 15 June 1961 at a press conference in East Berlin. Less than two months later construction began.[specific citation needed]
    • Is it truly the case that we have to copy every dirt that comes from the west? I think, comrades, with the monotony of the yeah yeah yeah and how that all is called should we make a stop.
    • In 1965 at the 11th congress of the Central Committee of the SED referring to the "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" of the Beatles and against the Rock music from the west in general [1][specific citation needed]

@Rupert loup: For the first of the quotes shown above, there is this recording available on a Youtube channel of German public service broadcasters. The relevant part starts at 0:38, and I reproduce below the original text, as shown in the subtitles of that recording, although you might want to check it for typos. It is substantially similar to what is shown above, but with some slight differences.
There is an English translation in the audio of this video but I could not comment on the copyright status of that translation, and I do not speak enough German myself to offer a reliable independent translation.
I don't have experience with editing Wikiquote, so I will leave someone else to add this information in an appropriate format.
