Jesse Hannah is currently attending University High School in Tucson, Arizona. He has been doing web design for the past four years: his mother introduced him to HTML in 2000, and in 2001 he uploaded his first web site, which has evolved to become what is now jps4. jps4 is a Pokémon and Duel Masters fan site that is still in development. He also is the writer of l1f3 !$ l33t, a web comic drawn by his friend, Ryan Poole.

Jesse has been a fan of Pokémon since soon after its United States debut. He has beaten at least one game from each series—until the most recent, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen—including Pokémon Red and Blue, Pokémon Gold and Silver, Pokémon Crystal, and Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. He still has yet to beat Pokémon Yellow, Red, Gold, and Ruby from the previous series, however. On Wikipedia, he has made edits to the Wikipedia:Pokémon evolution page, one of his fields of expertise in the Pokémon universe; he has been working for some time on a(n albeit fictional) theory to explain the mechanics of Pokémon evolution, which he will upload to a major Wiki site once he has finished it and has figured out where it should go.

Ryan first introduced Jesse to web comics in 2003, by giving him the URLs to MegaTokyo, Mac Hall, and The Tenkay Commotion. Jesse now has every uploaded page of MegaTokyo and The Tenkay Commotion archived on his computer, and reads both regularly. In early 2004, he was inspired by MegaTokyo and Mac Hall to write his own web comic; since his art skills leave something to be desired, he asked Ryan to do the art for him. In June 2004, the first comic was uploaded to l1f3 !$ l33t, but since, only two more have been drawn and uploaded. Soon, though, there will begin to be weekly comic updates.

In late 2003, Jesse began to learn the PHP web programming language for a web portal (of sorts) project that he and two of his friends were going to start. The project fell through, but over the span of several months he became proficient with it; both l1f3 !$ l33t and jps4 are written entirely in HTML and PHP (with limited amounts of JavaScript). He also does a limited amount of computer programming, and knows the QBASIC, Visual Basic 6 and .NET, and Java programming languages; C and C++ are both on his list of languages to learn. He favors the Linux operating system and kernel to those of Windows and DOS, and has a second hard drive in his computer on which he keeps a current version of Fedora Core, his preferred distrubution of Linux.
