You're welcome[edit]

But why don't you take a look at the pages I did for DMX and Papa Roach and use them as models for fixing your other pages? Also, if you know what album or song these lyrics come from, you should say so (and give a date if you can), that would make it "Sourced". Finally, in Papa Roach there is a word which you represent as ****. If you know what the word is, go ahead and write it out. You weren't shy on the other pages. --Ubiquity 16:57, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

k thanks

Please add any quotes from song lyrics to a page for their authors. We do not create separate pages for song titles here. ~ Kalki 17:02, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

gotcha kalki sorry --72.87.57.201 17:04, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

quotes[edit]

While we're giving advice, and talking policy, pages need to have some quotes, preferably notable ones. Pages without any quotes will be deleted pretty quickly. Pages with only one or two quotes stand in danger of being deleted, unless they are very good quotes. A nickname or stage name (like "Mouth of the South") doesn't count as a quote. --Ubiquity 17:32, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please follow the formatting guidelines more closely, and include quotes. The pages you have recently created have not done this well. The few regular editors here for the most part have their hands full with routine tasks and their own interests, and pages which don't have notable quotes, or which aren't formatted well either get deleted or otherwise cause extra work for others. I just recently returned to my computer after attending to several other concerns, and I see that "The Moody Blues" page you created is also in need of cleanup and quotes. has been deleted ~ Kalki 20:30, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, here's how to do a good page on a movie.

  1. Use this template (copy it and change it as necessary).
  2. Precede quotes with * or they won't get separated (as you saw).
  3. Separate pieces of dialog from each other with ---- (starting at the beginning of the line).
  4. The template will show you how and when to link to Wikipedia and IMDB.

Good luck. --Ubiquity 21:05, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Poor articles[edit]

Please learn how to properly source and format your quotes. Take a look, for instance, at your recent page on Hawthorne Heights. When I saw the page the three quotes had run together to look like a single unintelligible quote. It took me about 30 seconds to properly link the article to the band's Wikipedia article. It took me another 30 seconds to find out what song the quotes come from, even though I know nothing of the band. And it took me about two minutes to track down the album and the date, and to properly format the article, including a category.

If you don't understand how to achieve these things, edit the Hawthorne Heights page to see how I did it. If you still don't understand, let me know and I'll try to explain. But it is unfair of you to toss a few words onto a page and expect someone else to do the work for you. Junk articles are forgivable if a new editor chooses to learn and work towards Wikiquote goals; repeated creation of junk articles is considered vandalism. Consider this your first warning. --Ubiquity 08:10, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Murder INC[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Murder INC, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but it may not satisfy Wikiquote's criteria for inclusion, for the reasons given in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikiquote is not" and Wikiquote's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Votes for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ~ Ningauble 22:05, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
