User talk:Alan J Franklin~enwikiquote
Welcome to Wikiquote. I have noticed you have added pictures to many of the articles, which is a useful improvement. Whenever possible I recommend the use of free images from Wikimedia Commons which can be used easily by all the WIkimedia projects. When an image that is to be used is in the public domain or otherwise eligible for the Commons I recommend that it be uploaded there, to minimize the redundancy of files on the Wikimedia servers. I hope that you will like it here. ~ Kalki 21:03, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I really don't know what might be causing your problems with logging in. Neither your Username or IP number are currently blocked. I remember that long ago there were such problems in the software, but I had thought the problems were taken care of, and don't even remember what stop gap solutions were suggested or found. What browser are you using? ~ Kalki 23:16, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Einstein.jpg[edit]
Do you have a source for Image:Einstein.jpg? Couldn't we just use one of the public domain ones on the Commons for Albert Einstein? -- Rmrfstar 22:14, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
- I have listed the image for deletion at Wikiquote:Votes for deletion and replaced your image with a PD one on Albert Einstein. If you can provide a source for Image:Einstein.jpg say so at the vfd entry. Thank you. -- Rmrfstar 09:31, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Image:Solzen.jpg[edit]
Do you have a source for Image:Solzen.jpg? --Aphaia 13:24, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- It is being nominated for deletion. Failure to respond will have it deleted.--Jusjih 16:49, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Alan J Franklin. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Alan J Franklin~enwikiquote that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
