Ciara[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Ciara, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikiquote's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikiquote is not" and Wikiquote's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Votes for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- Ubiquity 12:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gemüseeintopf[edit]

Sorry, but I deleted this page for the following reasons:

  1. Gemüseeintopf is not in Wikipedia. I admit it could still be notable, but without an introduction explaining why, I have no way of knowing.
  2. The quotes, if that's what they were (I suspect they were just song titles), were not notable or original.
  3. The page was generally incoherent.

I noticed you added a {{cleanup}} tag to your own article. This is bad form. If you know it needs cleanup, then please clean it up. You should not expect other people to work on your pages if you're not willing to yourself.

Please stop wasting your time and ours by throwing up these inadequate pages. If you think a band or songwriter is worthy of attention here, please provide an intro that explains why they are notable (with a link to Wikipedia if possible) and some notable, interesting quotes. If these come from songs, please give the name of the song in addition to, not in lieu of, the quote.

You may have misunderstood the purpose of Wikiquote. It is not simply a place where people can list the bands they like and the songs of those bands that they admire. Please see Wikiquote:What Wikiquote is not for more information. --Ubiquity 19:30, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cold Creek Manor[edit]

I deleted this article because it had no quotes. --Ubiquity 17:45, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Poor articles[edit]

Wikiquote articles must have quotes. Please do not continue to create pages:

  • without any quotes,
  • with a list of song titles instead of quotes,
  • with mundane or unnotable quotes (like "C I A R A"), or
  • with formatting so poor that the quotes are not coherent.

If you are posting a quote from a song, please take the time to find out the name of the song and the album from which it came -- songs are the easiest things on the internet to source. If the band is notable it is likely that wikipedia will have an article on them, and possible that they will have an article on the song or the album. In these cases, please link to these articles.

If you don't understand how to achieve these things, let me know and I'll try to explain. But it is unfair of you to toss a few words onto a page and expect someone else to do the work for you. Junk articles are forgivable if a new editor chooses to learn and work towards Wikiquote goals; repeated creation of junk articles is considered vandalism. Consider this your first warning. --Ubiquity 17:56, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
