I have deleted the page you created about "Liberty is the luxury of self discipline." (There is a Reference desk for questions like this.) To answer your question: Alistair Cooke in The Patient Has the Floor (Knopf, 1986, ISBN 0394503651), p. 139, writes "I can only recall the saying of a wise Frenchman that 'liberty is the luxury of self-discipline'," but does not attribute the source. ~ Ningauble 20:31, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
