Marion Woodman[edit]

>Thanks for expanding the information for me. I have many of her books and I am planning on really making it a first-rate page as soon as I can get used to the style here. How did you know the quote was on pg 45? Psychic? Or Google Books or something? ;) Samuella 12:47, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

While reformatting the article, I noticed the ISBN for the book on Woodman's Wikipedia page. After adding the ISBN to the Wikiquote article, I clicked on it to take me to Amazon.com (as seen here). Since it's a book for which a "Search Inside" function has been provided, I was able to find the quote and its page number. Many books don't yet allow this searching on Amazon or Google, but this happened to be one of them. - InvisibleSun 17:19, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, ok. Thanks again. Samuella 21:43, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

>I've added a few more quotes just now. Perhaps it can be included in the main page's "new pages"? Samuella 23:23, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

The Main Page's selection of New Pages is made by our administrator Kalki. - InvisibleSun 06:32, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, ok. I wasn't sure how that was done. I just noticed it hadn't been updated in a while. Samuella 12:31, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to let you know that I removed your new category for 1976 films because our convention here is to categorize all films prior to 2000 by decade, rather than by year. Films released in 2000 or later are categorized by year. I changed the category for this film back to the decade. ~ UDScott 15:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, ok. What's the reason for that, exactly? Samuella 15:02, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But, if you feel strongly that we should change, feel free to post the subject on the Village Pump and see if there's consensus on it. ~ UDScott 15:03, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it makes sense if there aren't a whole lot of such pages, but seems like another one of those needlessly arbitrary rules that make editing more difficult for newbies. Anyway, thanks for pointing it out. Samuella 15:27, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really look at it as an arbitrary rule that is limiting, but rather convention that grew up based on the lack of many films from individual years. As I suggested, you might want to raise the subject on Village Pump if you feel strongly about it. But I'm still not sure that there will be enough films from those past years to justify having a separate category for each year. For those released in 2000 or later, there seem to be a lot of such films per year and that is why they were separated out. But again we are not trying to arbitrarily limit anything - if some change is needed, suggest it and if people agree it will be made. What we don't need is a lot of extra categories with only a few pages listed in them, which is why we are where we are related to this subject. ~ UDScott 15:44, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
