Hi. I could not help but notice that in spite of your apparent opinion in favour of keeping the Gus Arredondo article, you did not register a "keep" vote at WQ:VFD#Gus_Arredondo. Please allow me to suggest doing that, as well as adding quotes and external links to the relevant article. Best of all, adding an article to wikipedia would help, since wikipedia's larger manpower is much better at ascertaining notability, and is one of the prime criteria we use here. Wikiquette[edit]

First, I want to thank you for taking the trouble to register and properly sign your comment in the vote-for-deletion entry for Gus Arredondo. Many new users forget to sign their votes, rendering them uncountable.

But I would like to point out that personal attacks are not welcome on Wikiquote. Whether the article meets Wikiquote guidelines has nothing to do with who nominated it for deletion. Also, MosheZadka has indeed made many nominations recently, but others have made just as many over time. Not only does this help Wikiquote weed out inappropriate articles, but it also help promote potentially useful articles by calling attention to them. Many VfD articles are kept after Wikiquotians see the problems described and improve the articles in question, usually by adding quotes, Wikipedia links, and other useful information.

I would like to ask you to revise your comments to focus on the article's merits. (I don't normally take the trouble to make such suggestions, because most people making this error in wiki etiquette also show no interest in being Wikiquote users and add unsigned votes that are therefore ignored. We have many users, however, who have started their Wikiquote experience with a plea to preserve an article and have stayed to become regular contributors. In fact, MosheZadka is one of them.) Being polite and sticking to the topic is, of course, completely up to you, but I would suggest that you will be taken more seriously if you focus on the article, not who nominated it. If you have any questions or concerns about this, feel free to post me a note on my talk page. Thank you for your consideration. — Jeff Q (talk) 04:49, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

P.S. I just noticed that you labelled your text "Comment:". We usually use this to make comments without voting, but your text clearly suggests that you wish to vote to Keep this article. Might I suggest that you replace "Comment:" with "Keep" to make this clear? — Jeff Q (talk) 05:09, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
