Reversion on Thatcher page[edit]

You reverted an addition and wrote, "this can't be the source - 1975 cite already present." Please explain what you mean. What "1975 cite" is already present and how does that apply? - Embram (talk) 06:38, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

She originally said it in 1975, as cited earlier on the page in the section "Shadow Secretary for Environment". So that's the source. Zgystardst (talk) 19:50, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Very good. Thanks for the correction, then. - Embram (talk) 19:01, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Orwell - Disputed: Jean Jaurès cited as possible source of disputed quote - problem?[edit]

Please note: The text search for "le petit meridional" is almost useless because of the poor quality of the scan.

amichai reagan quote[edit]

"When I was eighteen, I joined the British army for four years. I served in Egypt and the western desert: Palestinian [Jewish!] units were kept distant from combat zones. After that came a year in the Hagana [pre-State Israeli army], mainly smuggling arms. Such experience makes one wonder how someone like Reagan, who has never been under fire, can order others to fight and shoot. It's crazy! Immoral!" Yehuda Amichai, 1984 interview in We Are All Close: Conversations with Israeli Writers by Haim Chertok (1989). Here's the quote I added from a Jewish writer that you've chosen to delete twice. I didn't add this to the pages of many world leaders, I added it to the one he cites driectly as an example, same as many other quotes other people and I have added without being vandalized. I've added lots of quotes from people of many different religions and cultures and this is my first time encountering behavior like yours, seems like the best thing to do is to post questions for you here and then go from there. From your contributions history seems like this is unique behavior on your end as well, could you explain why you feel so strongly about this one in particular? And I'm trying to think about how this would go if we were both acting in good faith, and seems like if you had a genuine concern about this you would have posted that on my talk page or on Reagan's talk page, instead of deleting it without notifying me. Is your interpretation of how this website works that we all have individual veto power over quotes others add, or do you see yourself or this specific situation as an exception? ~ A23423413 (talk) 15:58, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have already accused me publicly of "bad faith". If you wish to discuss this, you many do so publicly at the article talk. Zgystardst (talk) 17:50, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I wrote out here why your behavior on this so far has come across as bad faith to me, but if you don't want to engage directly that's okay. Based on this response what makes sense is for me to revert your deletion and add some of my response to you here in the edit note, and add that if someone thinks it should be removed can write why on the article talk page, I'll do that tomorrow. Then if you deleted it again after I can ask on reagan's talk page what a good process is for addressing behavior like that. Next time someone deletes a quote I add even if they don't notify me about it I can include a response to their reasoning, thank you for that feedback. Adding next day: I found this one from wikipedia helpful https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reverting ~ A23423413 (talk) 20:55, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
