From Wikimedia Foundation

• Foundation site
• Board election 2008 is to accept candidates in May. See WQ:VP#Official Election Notice.
• Florence Devouard announced Stuart West was appointed to Wikimedia Board members and Treasurer. His term is until December 2008 (foundaiton-l).
• Finance report was updated with an announcement of the Board-approved 2007 fiscal year audit.
• Wikimedia Foundation now has its office in San Francisco, CA. The older one was shut down on January 31.

Policy being drafted

• Wikiquote:Quotability: Aiming to a core of Wikiquote inclusion policy.
• Wikiquote:Civility: User behavior guideline. Now discussed on its talk.
• Wikiquote:Marking problematic pages is an introduction to the various tags which can be used to identify problems with pages, still in editing.
• User:Aphaia/User page draft is a draft for user-page policy.

Policy in final stages of approval

• Wikiquote:Changing username: A two-month trial starts on May 10. See also talk.
• Wikiquote:Proposed deletion: New style of deletion requests. A three-month trial was made in 2007, and now being in the finalizing stage.

Policy approved

• Wikiquote:Blocking policy was revised. The new elements are easily found at its draft, as colored.
• Assume good faith is now a community-approved official guideline.
• Bot policy modifications are modified. The operator must be reached by email.
• Administrators are now required to be reachable by email. Further information is found on WQ:RFA.
• Votes for deletion/Log, Image use policy and Blocking policy are now official.

Other

• The updated guide for layout is in production, but it is not perfect -- your help is appreciated.

• April 27: Wikimedia Board Election process begins.
• April 23: Yehudi is now a sysop. Congrats!
• April 23: Stuart West (w:User:Stu) join Wikimedia Board of Trustees and now the Treasurer. The Board now consists in eight people.
• April: Single user sign-in test begins. Sysops are invited to join the test and fill the bugs they find.
• March 21: English Wikiquote has 15,000 articles. The milestone article is Nicholas Roerich posted by Kalki.
• March 13: Cato is now a checkuser. Congrats!
• March 8: Cato requests for checkuser access.
• February 18: Poetlister is now a bureaucrat. Congrats!
• February 4: Poetlister requests for bureaucrat access.
• January 10: WMF has moved in San Francisco. Erik, who resigned from the Board last December is now Wikimedia Deputy Director.
• January 9: User talk-page change email notification is now enabled.
• January 2008: Happy new year! Jusjih now has an import flag. Discussion on the way to use is ongoing.
• December: Michael Davis and Erik Moeller resigned from Wikimedia Board of Trustees. There replacements are now being sought.
• December: Steward election ended, new stewards promoted. Among Wikiquotians, Jusjih is now a steward. Congrats!
• December: Ubiquity is now a sysop, supported unanimously. Congrats!
