Talk:Twin Peaks

I created this page with two sections: Individual quotes, for traditional individual Wikiquotes, and Quotable dialog, for dialog excerpts whose interest comes from the character interaction. Since there are no Wikipedia or Wikiquote pages for any Twin Peaks characters as of the date of this writing, I have not included any Wiki links for these characters. -- Jeff Q 09:26, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

The quotes are excellent (I'm a fan of Lynch and Twin Peaks myself —absolutely hated the ending though). There are quite a few different formats people have used in adding quotes and information thus far, and I think there still is plenty of room for experimentation as to what works best before laying down too many rules. I personally think seperate pages for characters in stories or shows should generally be avoided, but if a page for a show becomes too extensive it might be divided up into seasons or such. Those are just a couple of the ideas that have crossed my mind. ~ Kalki 14:59, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you about separate character pages; I think that's a bit much. My primary thought was whether to include links to Wikipedia pages for characters, as I have for the Wikiquote pages on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Mystery Science Theater 3000. The difference is that, for these last two, most of the characters already have pages, whereas not a single Wikipedia entry exists for Twin Peaks characters yet. If they start appearing, I might go back and add the links. -- Jeff Q 18:22, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I actually liked the ending (from a dramatic POV), though I hated what it meant to Cooper, and of course how it left such a unrequited desire for more in order to fix things! -- Jeff Q 18:25, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Should "How's Annie? How's Annie? How's Annie?" be in here, or is that too spoilery? john k 02:13, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I'd say go ahead and add it, but give it some useful yet unrevealing context, like:
[Cooper stares into the bathroom mirror. (Last lines of the show.)]
Anyone who hasn't seen it yet won't understand what it means until the very end, especially since it's how Cooper says it, and how he stares, that tells us what we need to know. The words alone are ambiguous, which is kinda neat. — Jeff Q 04:41, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)
After watching the end again, I'm not as sanguine about adding "How's Annie?". If I were adding it, I'd feel compelled to add what he's doing as he says this, which would definitely be a spoiler. Otherwise, it's just several repetitions of "How's Annie?", which, in and of itself, is not terribly memorable. Context seems to be essential for this line. — Jeff Q 08:39, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Which one's correct: "Sometimes my hands bend back" or "Sometimes my hands ben backwards"?

Its "I feel like I know her, but sometimes, my arms bend back."

Episode numbers?[edit]

Hey. These are numbered weird. I don't understand why they are done this way. The second episode is called episode one, the third, episode two, and so on. This is different from any other show I've ever seen. This can't be right, even if some official twin peaks guide has them labeled as such, it is misleading. Yeah I know what I pilot is. But it's still called the first episode. Episode two is not episode one. Seriously? I was trying to find a quote in "zen..." which is actually the third episode and you have it labeled as ep 2, and so I scanned through ep 2 a dozen times and wasted my time before I realized the numbering on this page is messed up.
