Abhijit Naskar

From Wikiquote

Abhijit Naskar (born October 9, 1991) is a writer[1] who publishes philosophical, political, and theological works centered on human rights and social reform. He is also known for producing a large body of humanist poetry, particularly thousands of sonnets, that blend cultural integration, neuroscience and social justice. Even though he is regarded as a self-taught neuroscientist, the interdisciplinary and multicultural nature of his canon makes it difficult to place him within any single field or cultural tradition. His writings often collapse the boundaries between neuroscience, poetry, theology, evolutionary psychology, and political philosophy, while emphasizing shared humanity, over belief and intellect.

[edit]

ISBN 9798656974356, self-published

  • Black lives matter is not a black people's movement - metoo is not a women's movement - pride is not a gay people's movement - it's all humanity's movement - a movement for being accepted as humans by the humans.
  • Justice doesn't mean absence of injustice, it means the presence of the determination to stand up to injustice.

I Vicdansaadet Speaking: No Rest Till The World is Lifted (2020)

[edit]

ISBN 9798698663225, self-published

  • Whoever controls the narrative, controls the people.
  • The human brain has not evolved to perceive reality, it has evolved to create an illusion of reality. That's why an exciting lie gains more attention than a boring truth.
  • Festivals are occasions to empower ourselves in the course of humanity - they are the occasions to rekindle the promise of humanity in our heart - the promise that we keep forgetting in the cacophony of manmade labels.
  • Christmas isn’t about the decorations, It’s about compassion. Hanukkah isn’t about the sufganiyot, It’s about amalgamation. Ramadan isn’t about the feast, It’s about affection. Diwali isn't about the lights, It's about ascension.
  • A true healer is not the one with magical powers, but the one who does everything in their power to help those in need.
  • If we don't learn to break bread with each other, there'll come a day when none of us will have any bread to break.
  • Acceptance is simply love in practice. When you love, you accept, when you lack love, you judge.

Aşkanjali: The Sufi Sermon (2020)

[edit]

ISBN 9798622157363, self-published

  • Adjusting to inhumanity is an inhumanity itself.
  • If an act of inhumanity goes unchallenged in your presence, then you have no right to call yourself human.
  • By belittling others we only show how little and shallow we are.
  • The greatest threat to the world is not any specific faith, for faith is nature's anti-dote to misery. The greatest threat to the world is intolerance, regardless of its religious, non-religious, political or intellectual background.
  • My world, my responsibility.
  • The beauty that we find in the world is a reflection of the beauty inside of us.

Mucize Insan: When The World is Family (2021)

[edit]

ISBN 9798513985464, self-published

  • To call genocide as self-defense, may be textbook diplomacy. Killing innocents to keep control, is an act of terrorist hypocrisy.
  • Society must shed its dead traditions, like one sheds dead skin.
  • Stagnated water breeds disease, when in motion it breathes life. Stagnated mind breeds segregation, when in motion it breaks divide.
  • Space is not the final frontier, humanity is, the full manifestation of humanity, above the influence of biases, for it is much easier to conquer outer space than inner space.

Hometown Human: To Live for Soil and Society (2021)

[edit]

ISBN 9798525040779, self-published

  • Worse than aborting is birthing in instability.
  • Until the state or the church takes full responsibility for a newborn, no bill or bible is qualified to even offer suggestions on a woman's right to abortion.
  • Acts of terror committed by a government is still terrorism.
  • Occupation has no place in a civilized society.
  • A world that is safe for mothers is safe for all.
  • We cannot fit a multi-gender world into a two-gender system of sports. Some may feel super woke to say that transgender women athletes belong in female sports, but let me tell you as a biologist, in terms of muscle mass, transgender women have similar advantages over females as male athletes do, even with testosterone suppression therapy, therefore, it is not enough to simply acknowledge transgender as a distinct gender, we must also make necessary alterations to our preexisting societal fields, such as setting up transgender category in sports, where performance is predicated on physiological attributes, so that in an attempt to vest upon the transgender population their long-overdue fundamental rights, we do not start treating other genders unfairly without even being aware of it. Remember, replacing one wrong with another is not rightness. Our purpose is to preserve the rights of everyone, not to change the shape of the violation of those rights.

  • Cultural integration doesn't happen by you boasting about your culture, it happens by you coming forward enthusiastically to learn about another culture.
  • In culture be without walls, in courage be endless, in compassion be senseless, in character be borderless.
  • Make assumption if you must, but make not the mistake of assuming that your assumption is always right.
  • Think of truth as an onion with infinite layers - each layer is a little less true than the next, yet each layer is equally important to the never-ending and ever-evolving realization of truth.
  • What is existence? Selflessness. What is life? Selflessness. What is civilization? Selflessness.
  • In work be restless, in love be limitless, in care be oceandeep, in service be selfless.

But the actual task of a fuse is,
To blow itself when the load is too heavy.

    Against any electrical irregularity.
Likewise, we gotta blow our fuse,
    Whenever inhumanity hangs heavy.

Her Insan Ailem: Everyone is Family, Everywhere is Home (2023)

[edit]

ISBN 9798376815281, self-published

  • Home is a people, not a place. Move to a different city, and anyone from your hometown will feel like family. Move to a different country, and the very sight of someone from your native country will make you emotional. Move to space, and the very sight of earth will wreak tears of joy. We keep bickering over trivial things like race, religion, gender, sexuality, status and so on, because even in this day and age we still take human life for granted. Ask an astronaut, and they'll tell you, whether they can find any trace of those prehistoric barriers from up there in space.
  • From the very beginning, we have been outsourcing morality from external imaginary agencies - first it was god, then it was government. When will the human be sentient and civilized enough to draw morality from the non-imaginary depths of their own heart!

The sun told me, o ye of little mind, don't you know, light is not mine to give! Light is the intrinsic right of life, I am merely accessory to the motive.

  • The only permanence we have is each other.
  • Beyond fear and fanaticism, Beyond ignorance and intolerance, There’s a valley of love and laughter, Come someday, I shall meet you there.
  • Only the heart can shatter to a million pieces and still keep beating,
  • One sacrifice awakens millions.
  • More than being the spark of reason, Be the reason for someone's spark. Better than bearing the light of faith, Instill faith in someone's light.

  • Beyond all crucifix and calculus, Love is the only cosmic education.

For one who lives with kindness, everyday is Ramadan.

  • I am not a capitalist, I am not a communist, I am not a socialist, I am not a traditionalist. A puerile, clinically sectarian species like yours cannot fathom what I am. Does that mean, I am not the same species as you! Sure, I am - but from a different dimension - a different dimension in time - a different dimension in mind - where intellect is only a tool, not torture - where faith is only a choice, not compulsion - where money is only a means, not master - where oneness is fundamental, not fiction.

World War Human: 100 New Earthling Sonnets (2024)

[edit]

ISBN 9798335576499, self-published

  • Peace is a crime against state, that's why patriotism is a glorified quality. More patriotic the citizens of a nation, less likely they'll question warmongery.
  • Nationality is a right, nationalism is not. Religion is a right, fundamentalism is not.
  • Nationalism manufactures more widows and orphans than disease and disaster.
  • Ceasefire only postpones war, demilitarization plants peace.
  • It's a sad state of affairs when you get used to the sight of blood, glorifying aggression as bravehearted. It's a sad state of affairs when you feel good dressing up for gala, while children are being bombed to death.
  • Every animal knows self-love, only the human knows selfless love.
  • One hug does more to wipe tears than a hundred hours of therapy.
  • Diversity is the presence of 'us', Inclusion is celebration of 'us'. Tradition is the worship of past, Evolution is the celebration of 'us'.
  • Superstition is not divinity, any more than phrenology is brain science. Conspiracy is not enlightenment, any more than astrology is astrophysics.
  • My divinity is not rooted in god or scripture, my divinity is rooted in human welfare. My science is not rooted in cold logic venture, my science is rooted in human welfare.
  • In the beginning we were dust, in the end we'll be dust, it's the journey in between, that makes it all worth the fuss.
  • Existence here is an art of love, at our planet on the cosmic prairie. New Earth is a celebration of life, not a validation of ruinous rigidity.
  • That's what conscience does to you - it takes away the slightest inclination of compromise, and turns you into an incorruptible beacon of pure conviction.
  • Either you succumb to the world, or expand so vast that the world succumbs to you.
  • Be the humanest human you could be. That's all we can do - be the humanest human we could be.
  • Black, white, brown or martian - at the end of the day, you'll find good and evil in every corner of the world. You'll find apes peddling segregation in the name of preserving heritage and purity, in every corner of the world, just like you'll find humans standing up for love and oneness, in every corner of the world. It has nothing to do with ethnicity of a person, and everything to do with humanity of the person.
  • The real first world war has just begun - the war between good and evil - the war between emancipation and occupation - between inclusion and exclusion - between expansion and contraction - between reason and rigidity - between humanity and inhumanity. I call it, World War Human.
And unlike previous times, we won't win this war by old-fashioned bullets and bombs, or by deceit and diplomacy. The World War Human can only be won by education, and education alone - by an ardent, absolute, unambiguous, unbending, undoctrinated, unphobic, unwhitewashed, decolonized, nonpartisan, gender neutral, valiant, self-correcting and conscientious execution of education.
  • Stateless, cultless, I walk the planet.
Restless, sleepless, I live a dream.
Friendless, loveless, I brave the mission.
The being is dissolved for the beacon to beam.

The Divine Refugee (2024)

  • Integration 101: I don't exist.
  • Divergence is nature’s way to expansion.
  • To make heritage out of consciousness is to make garbage out of consciousness. To make tradition out of stagnation is to make fertilizer out of living veins.
  • Least capable people are most selfish. The greatest hopes are always hopeless.
  • Today's choice is tomorrow's instinct, Choose peace today, tomorrow it's norm. Yesterday's choice is today's instinct, Give in to hate, and the jungle goes on.
  • Don't be an alcoholic, be a writer - hundred times the intoxication, without the primitiveness.
  • We are curators of our own illumination.
  • There are cracks across my heart, nothing can bar the pouring rays. Light is but suffering harnessed, Genius is brokenness harnessed.
  • Surround yourself with luxury, you feel fancy. Surround yourself with books, you feel brainy. Surround yourself with people, you feel alive.
  • Borders are glorified apartheid,
    Passports are glorified bus pass.
No peace can ever come to light,
from the doings of apartheid heart.

  • When I use the term colonizer, I refer only to those who take pride in colonial exploits, and not to those accountable human beings who happen to descend from colonial ancestors. Colonialism is the enemy, it has nothing to do with skin or ancestry. As long as you stand true on ethics of equality and mettle of character, rather than boasting pedigree and archaic tradition, you are a champion of humanity, no matter your ethnicity, ancestry, profession or status.

[edit]

ISBN 9798344381947, self-published

  • Every ape has a talent for war, takes a human to rise in peace.
  • Stronger the military, stupider the citizens. World in trance of arms, is a planet of the apes.
  • Forget about afterlife, focus on afterlight, light that is left behind, by your deeds of life.
  • Death is inevitable,
    Life is a choice.
    Extinction is inevitable,
    Existence is a choice.
  • I believe in the right to belief, but not as excuse for discrimination.
  • My holiness is vast as the sky, and deep as the ocean - it has place for every faith, but no place for intoleration.
  • Enter a hall with high ceiling, and you feel small, in a room with low ceiling you feel like a giant. The height of human doesn't depend on numbers, we judge our height relative to the world around. Bigots hate an inclusive world not because it is unorthodox, but because it reminds them, how puny they are - how small.
  • Call it Halloween, Diwali or Dia de Los Muertos, it's the universal struggle for light, of us humans - insan - humanos.
  • To transcend culture is the beginning of culture.

Little Planet on The Prairie: Dunya Benim, Sorumluluk Benim (2024)

[edit]

ISBN 9798300074616, self-published

  • Kindness demands the greatest of bravery, that's why easy cruelty is so predominant.
  • The world has plenty room for everyone, but no world is room enough for the bigot.
  • If I had a child, I wouldn't teach them a single thing about the culture I was raised in - instead I'll hand over all the cultures I've assimilated throughout my life, so that one day they may grow up to be a whole human being, rather than a puny fragmented ape - so that they may become a large person in a small planet, rather than a small primate in a large world.
  • Fundamentalists radicalize children for illegal terrorism, nationalists radicalize children for legal terrorism, I radicalize children for peace-n-oneness, using only their brain and backbone.
  • Just as there is such a thing as blinded by light, there is such a thing as blinded by reason. Just as there is such a thing as poisoned by oxygen, there is such a thing as poisoned by belief.
  • No belief is more holy than tolerance. First sign of divinity is a tolerant heart.
  • Soul that is kind is soul divine,
Mind segregated is most unholy kind.
Helping the helpless is holiness alive,
Day of the living is day of the divine.
  • Goodwill that prevails only during the holidays, is no goodwill.
  • Within me there's a world where consciousness, rights, oneness are the same.
  • I accept the bible, but not nazism.
I accept the koran, but not islamism.
I accept the gita, but not hindutva.
I accept the torah, but not zionism.
  • The difference between (hu)man and monkey lies in inclusivity.
  • I’m sorry, I cannot live a single cultural, single lingual, single scriptural existence. I want all the cultures and languages, I want all the scriptures and sciences.
  • Carrying cosmos in my chest, every community is my home.
  • Palestine to Kashmir, North Korea to North America, persecution anywhere is persecution of humanity.
  • There is no greater vision than the common sense of community.
  • Peace will come in our time, when we make time for peace.
  • Better a traitor to the border than a traitor to humanity, better an enemy of the state than enemy of humanity.
  • There is nothing more cataclysmic than a sea of unarmed citizens out for justice - even the richest oligarchic leeches, armed with billions of robots, tanks and satellites, would crumble like twigs.

Azad Earth Army: When The World Cries Blood (2025)

[edit]

ISBN 9798309281886, self-published

  • Language is the highway to culture.
  • Every corner of earth has added to my flight, erase any one community, and you diminish my light.
  • Laugh hard, love harder. Live lovely, die lovelier.
  • Black is brave,
    Woman is wonder,
    Muslim is magnetic,
    Asian is thunder.

    Prejudice is plunder,
    Biases are blunder.
    Hate wreaks havoc,
    when hearts are asunder.
  • Trampling on others' rights is just as cannibalistic as feeding on others' flesh.
  • Give me a pen, I'll give you peace. One pen can defeat a thousand guns, that's why books get banned, not guns.
  • Abandon your ancestors before you abandon your humanity, abandon your tradition before you abandon tolerance.
  • What burns the bigots most is an unbending flame of inclusion.
  • The only way to end prejudice from the world is to stare it right into the eyes and speak love.
  • Truth only burns brighter in the flame of persecution.
  • Greatest truth is the unmasking of lies.
  • To mollycoddle malice is not religion, to pamper prejudice is not piety.
  • Inheriting a primitive mindset, from family, society, country or culture, is worse than inheriting a disease.
  • No one on earth should suffer to satisfy someone's puritanical beliefs.
  • No one else anywhere will have to suffer, it ends with us - the prejudice, the bigotry, the stupidity, the superstition, the fanaticism, all masquerading as sanity - it ends with us.
  • You know, what terms like woke, feminist, anti-racist, anti-fascist, anti-colonialist, anti-monarchist, anti-nationalist, pro-choice, really mean! They imply a willful involvement to free ourselves from primitive practices, as opposed to wishful thinking of tradition forcing the living to adapt to the dead.
  • I want the uncompromising, I want the unbending, I want the pure, who've conquered their prejudice. Only the undoctrinated can carry the godly thunder, only the living can bear remedy to customs of malice.
  • Safest place for a book is on the shelf, but that's neither its place nor purpose. A book is supposed to have wrinkled pages, cover ripped, and spine broken, still unbent - that's how you know it's a book well read, and the same holds true for a life well lived.
  • When you stand in front of a person, empty your cup and stand as a mirror. Let them pour all their hopes and dreams, their passions, their purpose, their tragedies, their triumphs, their culture, their language, everything - let them pour everything that they are, into you. Become so profoundly empty of yourself, that everyone can see themselves in you - become a mirror to the world.
  • I'm not interested in proving or disproving God, I long resigned from all such arguments. I am a pilgrim of love and life, all are welcome, all are celebrated.
  • My life is neither faith based nor fact based, my life is love based.
  • Oneness is my legacy, pages are just vessel.

  • Fascism, fundamentalism and nationalism, these are the ultimate mental illness.
  • Post-apocalyptic world will never unfold like in the movies, the post-apocalyptic world already exists, may be not for you, as you're born on the lucky side of privilege - but that world of drought, flood, famine, plague and persecution already exists - ten steps from the door of the privileged.
  • When bigots get loud, we gotta make our existence even louder.
  • Those who practice intolerance as freedom, hate as holiness, conspiracy as wisdom, and prejudice as purity, are a lot of things, but not human.
  • Faith can be unholy, science can be inhuman, none depends on the tool, all depends on the person.
  • An empty attic is a primate's olympus.
  • If you can't be a tsunami, be a flash flood - if you can't be a flash flood, be a garden hose, and wash away the inhumanities around you.
  • The first global goal is to fire the fascists.
  • When someone plays fast and loose with rights and freedom, their place is either in the jungle or in a mental institution, not in office.
  • Mass deportation is human trafficking.
  • It's the golden age of crime, when the biggest cartel of a nation is its own government.
  • Brain is there to think first, then take a side, but society teaches you to pick a side first, then think alike.
  • In a world of flexible spine and rigid mind, muster an unbending spine with expanding mind.
  • Selma to Montgomery, from river to the sea, we stand guard, All Awake to Humanity!
  • Inclusivity makes society, accessibility is humanity.
  • There is no White DNA, Black DNA. There is no Muslim DNA, Jewish DNA. We're made of stuff of the stars, why do you still rot in the jungle gutter!
  • There is no genetic test for ethnicity - science declares sanctions on racism, not validation. If you are seeking validation for your bigotry and prejudice, all we scientists can offer you are directions to the nearest psychiatrist.
  • All prejudice comes with a flag, all discrimination comes with a badge.
  • To be aware is to rewire.
  • Don't take the lens for the landscape.
  • You know, which nation has the nicest people? You cannot guess in a million years. The nation with the nicest people is, Earth, for no nation has exclusive franchise over niceness - goodness is a human quality, not a national one. Nationalism is an animal trait, not a human one. Sacredness is a secular practice, not sectarian. Culture is an act of expansion, not exclusion.
  • My only gift is my heart, my only asset is my brain, my only backup is my backbone.
  • Let there be gods - not one, not three, but billions upon billions - let each human be a god unto themselves - without fear, without prejudice - without superstition, without cynicism - let each mind rise triumphant over malice.
  • Prejudice is not piety, no matter the lies laced with wine. Dismantling of prejudice is the dawning of divine.
  • From the dark furnace of the human skull dawns the light of humankind.
  • Mind is one big lie, unless you examine everything. Life is one big blind spot, unless you question everything.
  • There is no greater spiritual journey than the rejection of prejudice.
  • I grew up celebrating Diwali, eating fruitcake on the 25th, and waking up to the call of azaan. If I'm devout anything, it's a devout human.
  • To understand me, you have to listen as a human, not as believer or nonbeliever, but as human.
  • I am the Naskar, and I bridge people.

  • The real traitor is not the one who questions the state, but the one who kills for it, without questioning why.
  • The case for peace is not state vs terrorism, the case for peace is citizens vs states of earth.
  • Whether the head smashes against the wall, or the wall smashes against the head, the result is always the same - whether a fascist smashes against the citizens, or the citizens smash against the fascist, the result is always the same.
  • Human kneels to no ICE or SS.
  • There is more divinity in a helping hand and a loving smile, than imagined by all your fictitious theologies.
  • Bigotry is the ruin of a brain, superstition is a waste of imagination.
  • Faith is a private pill, not public law.
  • You cannot develop consciousness without correcting your biases.
  • Life is just three days - yesterday, today, tomorrow; yesterday is gone, tomorrow may not come, all we have is today - so in actuality, life is just one day, today - rest is either memory or imagination.
  • Sit on the floor once in a while, on the floor, in the fields, on the streets, you'll remember, what it means to be human.
  • The day you care more about essential rights than essential oils, I'll respect your spirituality. The day you care more about sharing a hot meal than hot yoga, I'll respect your spirituality.
  • Holiness unfolds in human welfare.
  • There is no other grand design, except a beautiful human mind.
  • Take theology out of the sky and place it in the heart of humanity.
  • God is not a being, God is a behavior.
  • Perception is not a measure of reality, perception is a measure of distance - from afar the sun is a dot, from farther the milkyway is a dot, from farther still the universe is a dot. Likewise, from afar God is an entity, from up close, God is a state of mind, get closer still, and you are God.
  • Godliness is measured by one's capacity to disrupt cruelty, not comply with customs.
  • You know what is the real god particle? You are. Every person who refuses to entertain division and discrimination in any form, is the practicing god particle of society.
  • Civilization isn't built by laws, civilization is built by hearts that dare to disobey injustice.
  • When ethnic cleansing becomes your religion, mutiny becomes our right.
  • I keep facts-n-faith both in my back pocket, my chest pocket is always empty - nothing must hinder the light of heart, set your heart ablaze, unfiltered by frivolity.
  • Everybody has a right to love and happiness, any book, brain or ballot that demands otherwise, take it to the wilderness and set it free, far, far away from civilization.
  • Racism is no longer tolerated as normal, Islamophobia is no longer tolerated as normal, Homophobia is no longer tolerated as normal, Chauvinism is no longer tolerated as normal, Colonialism is no longer tolerated as normal - believe you me, this is the most human humanity have ever been in our 200,000 years long history.
  • Ethnicity is a product of dogma, not a marker of human capacity.
  • No borrowed make-believe, no quicksand of cowardice - superstition fading from bones, as we rise above the prejudice.
  • It ends with me, toxic masculinity ends with me, religious intolerance ends with me - superstition 'n conspiracy ends with me, prejudice and puritanism ends with me - jungle nationalism ends with me, animal fundamentalism ends with me - segregated spaces, both outside and inside, end with me.
  • Kindness is my constitution.

Belong to the moment, belong to each other, past the lingering lure of a toxic heaven. Wake up to Iftar-e Insaniyat - the First Supper, love be our cosmic chord, tolerance, our hymn.

Sonnets

[edit]
  • Into The Eyes of Racism (A Sonnet)

I looked into the eyes of racism,
    All I found was insecurity.
I looked into the eyes of prejudice,
All I found was pretend sanity.
I looked into the eyes of bigotry,
All I found was savage inanity.
I looked into the eyes of hate,
All I found was delusion of purity.
I looked into the eyes of disparity,
All I found was mindless conformity.
I looked into the eyes of apathy,
All I found was spineless vanity.
I looked a lot and observed plenty,
It's time to burn bright against brutality.

    (No Foreigner Only Family, 2020)

  • The Anti-Stereotype Sonnet

    Black is not evil.
    White is not trash.
    Brown is not illegal.
    Muslims don’t crash.
    Women ain't weak.
    Jews ain't greedy.
    Men ain't playboys.
    Queer ain't sickly.
    Hijab is not oppression.
    Hourglass ain't beauty.
    Faith is not delusion.
    Atheists don't lack morality.
    Assumptions only reveal shallowness.
    Beyond stereotypes lies humaneness.

(I Vicdansaadet Speaking: No Rest Till The World is Lifted, 2020)

  • Sonnet of Festivals

    Christmas isn't about the decorations,
    It's about compassion.
    Hanukkah isn't about the sufganiyot,
    It's about amalgamation.
    Ramadan isn't about the feast,
    It's about affection.
    Diwali isn't about the lights,
    It's about ascension.
Our world is filled with festivals,
But what do they really mean?
    Celebrating them with cultural exclusivity,
Makes us not human but savage fiend.
Every festival belongs to all of humanity,
For happiness has no religious identity.

(I Vicdansaadet Speaking: No Rest Till The World is Lifted, 2020)

  • An Immigrant's Plight (The Sonnet)

With hopes and dreams brimming in my heart,
I have traveled across miles and miles.
A single desire for a flame of acceptance,
Still burns bright in my heart's aisle.
You say home is where the heart is,
But my heart is accused of difference.
Sometimes I'm accused of faith or race,
Other times they question my allegiance.
Amidst the illusive fog of color and geography,
When did humanity cease mattering most!
Sentiments and dreams have no borders,
Character isn't exclusive to any single coast.
We’ve wasted enough time on labels and covers,
It's time to be family filling the world with colors.

    (No Foreigner Only Family, 2020)

  • If A Tree Falls (Sonnet)

If a tree falls in the forest, but
nobody hears it, did it really fall!

If children are bombed to death,
but it's omitted from the news,
    did the children really die!

If people are massacred by law,
    but it's not on Netflix,
    is it really a genocide!

If democracy is dismantled piece by piece,
    but by government decree,
    is it really illegal!

If the world is burnt to cinders,
but the privileged castles stay intact,
    is the world really burning!

(Neurosonnets: The Naskar Art of Neuroscience, 2025)

  • Sonnet of Palestine

    I don't want to wage a war,
All I want is to raise a family.
I don’t want your empty pity,
All I seek is a little humanity.
    To call genocide as self-defense,
    May be textbook diplomacy.
    Killing innocents to keep control,
Is an act of terrorist hypocrisy.
    Brokers may bring ceasefire,
But they can never give us liberty.
All they do is arrange assemblies,
While we suffer through the century.
So I say to you o people in luxury,
Look at us and you'll know your fallacy.

(Mucize Insan: When The World is Family, 2021)

  • Rx for Fascism (Sonnet)

    Gaza is not for sale,
    Greenland is not for sale,
    Ukraine is not for sale,
    Canada is not for sale.

Planet Earth is not real estate,
to pander to your predatory psychopathy.
If you are so hard up for cash, we can all
chip in to buy you some good ol shock therapy.

When someone plays fast and loose with rights
and freedom, their place is either in the jungle
or in a mental institution, not in office.
    Fascism, fundamentalism and nationalism,
these are the ultimate mental illness.

(Neurosonnets: The Naskar Art of Neuroscience, 2025)

  • Sonnet of Abortion

    My body, my decision,
Whether I choose birth or abortion.
Till a state can care for the newborn,
No bill is qualified to offer resolution.
Instead of controlling my birth canal,
Work on carving a paradigm of equality.
Build a world where a newborn is a gift,
Not a burden on life, dream or economy.
Abolish all disparities born of greed,
Strip the wealthy of their ill-gotten riches.
Use all resources for collective welfare,
So that status ends up on history pages.
Worse than aborting is birthing in instability.
I'll give birth when I need not rely on pity.

(Hometown Human: To Live for Soil and Society, 2021)

  • Women Ain't Hood Ornament (The Sonnet)

Why should women have to give up,
Their name when they get married,
As if they are not real people,
But hood ornament to their husband!
Why should a child be identified only,
By their father's name, not mother's,
Who by the way is the root of creation,
Who is the actual almighty creator!
It is a sad state of affairs when,
    Morons peddle moronity as tradition.
Shame on us for sustaining such savagery,
As we do not put our backbone to action!
Each couple must determine the parameters
of their relationship, not some ragged tradition.
Only norm that matters is love, for in love lies emancipation.

(Himalayan Sonneteer: 100 Sonnets of Unsubmission, 2022)

  • Women Run Better (The Sonnet)

    Men only inherit the world,
Women give birth to the world.
If women can birth the world,
    women can run the world
    (far better than men).

History reveals, war is a masculine merchandise,
Whereas preserving life is an act of the feminine.
    Masculinity bears inclination for competitiveness,
Femininity is synonymous with synergy and cohesion.

    That's why female leaders
    can step down more gracefully,
making way for new minds at the helm,
    Whereas their male counterparts would
rather take their position to the grave.

Femininity is not a reproductive quality,
Femininity is the source of all rejuvenation.
No matter what gender or orientation you are,
Nourish your femininity, and there'll be ascension.

(Vande Vasudhaivam: 100 Sonnets for Our Planetary Pueblo, 2023)

  • Sonnet 500

Better a lion in sheep's skin,
Than a sheep in lion's skin.
Better a giant in a gentle vessel,
Than germs in a fancy canteen.

When not needed act mostly a sheep,
But occasionally you gotta let the lion out.
Be a disinfectant and sanitize the world,
Not germs that make disease break out.

All social sickness is caused by selfishness,
And hypocrisy is what makes things worse.
Wipe out all hypocrisy from your being's core,
The world is a reflection of what's in our heart.

I say again, lion on the inside, sheep on the out.
When chihuahuas wreak havoc, let the dinosaur out.

(Honor He Wrote: 100 Sonnets For Humans Not Vegetables, 2022)

  • Loneliness Psychology (No-Nonsense Sonnet)

Being happy alone is no sign of genius,
It is either narcissism or hypocrisy.
You've got to be extremely selfish,
To be happy without human company.

If your heart is alive and human,
    Loneliness will cause you misery.
    It's only the self-absorbed animal,
Who don't need people to be happy.

It's okay if you are alone and miserable,
It is but a healthy mind's healthy reaction.
Do not romanticize it with phony philosophy,
    For derangement starts with self-deception.

Fact of the matter is - I suffer, therefore I am.
Life is but a cosmic dance between dusk and dawn.

(Aşk Mafia: Armor of The World, 2023)

  • Sonnet of Silence

I am the loudest when I am silent,
My lips are shut yet I speak treasures.
Speech without heart is nothing but noise,
Listen to my silence, you'll hear the universe.
Words spoken with mere lips reach nowhere,
For it's the heart that makes words alive.
Tell people who you are without saying a word,
Speak from your very core, they'll listen alright.
I repeat, silent people have the loudest hearts,
For when you speak less you get to listen more.
The more you listen the more you are heard,
The more you hear the more you get to grow.
Set the words on fire, let them all turn to ashes.
Tell people who you are without all the speeches.

(Honor He Wrote: 100 Sonnets For Humans Not Vegetables, 2022)

  • Antidote to Crime (The Sonnet)

The way to a crime-free world is simple,
But it lies outside of all the legal 'n partisan muck.
Take away the guns from the kids on the street,
Put books in their hands and food in their stomach.
By the time they grow up into young adults,
The prehistoric warmongers will be in death bed.
The children whose childhood you restored,
Will all be ready to hold the reins of world stage.
Law, policy 'n all that stuff surely have their place,
But not as the antidote to crime, chaos 'n descension.
The permanent antidote to crime is education alone,
Law ‘n policy are just to ensure its true democratization.
More than trying a crime, focus on treating environment.
Feed the hungry ‘n establish education, free from any debt.

(Honor He Wrote: 100 Sonnets For Humans Not Vegetables, 2022)

  • Sonnet 1000

It's the little everyday acts of justice,
That bring most change in society.
It's the little everyday acts of justice,
    That actually eliminate inhumanity.
One big revolution in five years,
    Brings no lasting change.
But one small act of uncompromise everyday,
Makes the whole world gain conscience.
Hence, reformation of a nation isn't measured,
By how many big revolutions it has to face.
Reformation of a nation is predicated on,
How many citizens it has who refuse to bend.
So I say - break the chains, take off the blinkers.
The whole world awaits, for it needs to be tinkered.

(Himalayan Sonneteer: 100 Sonnets of Unsubmission, 2022)

  • Ripped Jeans & Twenty Dollar Shirt (The Sonnet)

Ripped jeans and twenty dollar shirt,
That's how we'll change the world.
It is okay if your outside is dirty,
Make sure your heart is without dirt.
Too many people wear suits and boots,
In order to cover up the filth within.
Those who have their character intact,
Care not whether their clothes are shinin'.
The world needs purpose, integrity, honor,
None of which is predicated on clothes.
Those who think clothes make the person,
Will never discover any of the civilized roads.
Heart makes the person, heart makes the world.
A world without dirt comes from a heart without dirt.

(Making Britain Civilized: How to Gain Readmission to The Human Race, 2022)

  • Old and New (The Sonnet)

    Old is not necessarily gold,
    New is not necessarily cool.
    Stereotypes without scrutiny,
Sustain only a society of fools.
Answer to one stereotype is not another,
Answer to one assumption is not another.
To make assumption is not wrong but,
To assume it as truth supreme is rhubarb.
    Perception is all about assumption,
Our brain hasn't evolved to observe reality.
Biases prevent the observation of biases, unless,
You are hellbent to expand across comfort and luxury.
    Stereotypes are archetypes of self-preservation.
Look outside the self and you'll find assimilation.

(Find A Cause Outside Yourself: Sermon of Sustainability, 2022)

  • Life is Prejudice (The Sonnet)

    Life is one big prejudice,
    Unless you question everything.
    Perception is one big bias,
Unless you see beyond the seeing.
Opinions are a bunch of lies,
    Till curiosity surpasses comfort.
Beliefs may very well be delusion,
Till traditions are examined with real effort.
Faith can very easily be fiction,
    Unless you distinguish superstition.
Morality can turn out to be myth,
    Unless you embrace evolution.
There's no place for rigidity in liberty's lands.
On the odyssey of revolutions life expands.

(Neden Türk: The Gospel of Secularism, 2021)

  • Sonnet of Chemical Reality

    The universe is our reflection,
We are the reflection of the universe.
What is inside is also outside,
What is outside is also inside of us.
No reality exists without human control,
Reality outside our control is imagination.
    Mental chemicals produce all reality,
All can be altered with mindful action.
    Mind is mightier than muscle,
    Kindness is braver than cruelty.
All reform is born of mental chemicals,
Reform yourself and there'll be universality.
Truth beyond perception is futile speculation.
Let's focus on life and improve human condition.

(Generation Corazon: Nationalism is Terrorism, 2024)

  • Time is Illusion (The Sonnet)

    Time is a necessary illusion,
forged from the fabric of memory,
meant for adding coherence to life,
so that you're mindful of your duty.

Body cannot survive in the vacuum of space,
Mind cannot survive in the vacuum of time.
Brain cannot survive in the vacuum of skull,
So it floats about in the fluid of spine.

Memory makes the past, memory makes future,
Memory is the bedrock of the time psyche.
Physical time is irrelevant to the mind,
Mind creates its own domain of temporality.

Time is a myth, that aids us survive.
Master the myth, o divine maker -
Time and tide are born inside!

(Tum Dunya Tek Millet: Greatest Country on Earth is Earth, 2023)

  • Humanitarian Science 101 (Sonnet 1202)

    BRAIN means Benevolent Reformer
    Applying Information Nobly.
    DATA means Determined Action
    of Transformative Awareness.

    Information Technology is primitive IT,
    Civilized IT means Informed Transformation.
Heuristic and holistic can never go together,
Shortcuts only obstruct the rise of realization.

    Electronics means electron artistry.
Chemistry is an art of bonding.
Mathematics is the art of numbers,
Evolution is the art of correcting.

Society without science dumps the world in stoneage,
Science devoid of society shoves the mind into iceage.

(Rowdy Scientist: Handbook of Humanitarian Science, 2023)

  • Mind Quotient (Sonnet 1209)

Throw away all stupidity of IQ and EQ,
They are but stain upon mind's honor.
    To quantify intelligence is stupid,
To quantify emotion is even stupider.

When the feeble psyche seeks reassurance,
It craves comfort in all sorts of nonsense.
Most times it resorts to the supernatural,
Exhausting that it resorts to pseudoscience.

It is no mark of mental progress to replace
    supernatural bubble with pseudoscience bubble.
No matter how they try to sell you security,
Know that, human potential is unquantifiable.

IQ is no measure of intelligence,
EQ is no measure of emotion either.
But craving for IQ and EQ is symptom
of a shallow and feeble character.

(Rowdy Scientist: Handbook of Humanitarian Science, 2023)

  • All The World's An Asylum (Sonnet 1235)

    All the world's an asylum,
    All the people are lunatics.
Some are but loonies of love,
    Some loonies run by prejudice.

Some die running in love of currency,
Some die sharing the currency of love.
Beyond the grasp of dollar and euro,
    Love is the only nonvolatile
    currency in the world.

It's good to be a loonie,
If the reason is justly humane.
When human welfare is at stake,
It's only logical to be insane.

Sane, insane - be as the need arises,
To hell with the judgment of nitwits!
In an organic world no sanity is absolute,
Boldly walk the spectrum as the purpose fits.

(Insan Himalayanoğlu: It's Time to Defect, 2023)

  • My Struggle (Sonnet 1500)

My struggle is to build a world, where
    gestapo, mi6, cia, raw, all are history;
where thieves aren't glorified as heroes,
    invasion isn't sugarcoated as security;

military is found only in books of history,
    where guns are displayed in museum as relics;
nukes are just defense against celestial threat,
    where green sources power all things electric;

where it's illegal to amass limitless wealth -
    food, housing, education, healthcare, are free;
where no one can be politician without license,
where citizens listen to experts, not celebrity.

My struggle is to build a world, where
    human rights is a human issue, not legal one;
where equality is not a belief, but the norm -
where human is neither ape nor robot, but human.

(Dervis Vadisi: 100 Promissory Sonnets, 2024)

  • All Awake to Humanity (Sonnet 2050)

Science ought to be at the forefront
    of calling and curing mindlessness,
not an olympian god aloof on pedestal
    distantly passing judgment, like
    hallucinations through bushes.

Faith ought to be at the forefront
of calling out persecution and malice,
    rather than seeking justification in
    dead books, like brainless primates.

Selma to Montgomery, from river to the sea,
We stand guard, with no weapon but our dignity.
Reason is our ark, love is our compass -
Colored, White, Muslim and otherwise, together
we shall overcome - All Awake to Humanity!

(Neurosonnets: The Naskar Art of Neuroscience, 2025)

  • Neurovision (Sonnet)

    Mind is one big lie,
    unless you examine everything.
Life is one big blind spot,
    unless you question everything.

All prejudice comes with a flag,
all discrimination comes with a badge.
Nothing civilized in waving the flag,
real honor is to outgrow archaic trash.

If you must wave, wave the flag of those
who are stripped of their life and dignity.
Wave the rainbow, wave the watermelon -
lift up those thrown in manufactured obscurity.

If left to tradition, every mind
is a septic tank of superstition.
But nourish it with heart and reason,
and mind is sanctuary of illumination.
(Neurosonnets: The Naskar Art of Neuroscience, 2025)

  • DNA & Race (Sonnet)

    Ancestral roots count for nothing,
modern humans are identified by behavior.
In the end, all roots lead to Africa -
transcending roots we lay the human culture.

Beyond markers of immediate biological family,
DNA ancestry tests are practically meaningless.
There is no genetic test for ethnicity -
science declares sanctions on racism, not validation.

There is no White DNA, Black DNA.
There is no Muslim DNA, Jewish DNA.
There is no Aryan DNA, Dravidian DNA.
We're made of stuff of the stars,
why do you still rot in the jungle gutter!

    If you are seeking validation
    for your bigotry and prejudice,
all we scientists can offer you are
    directions to the nearest psychiatrist.

(Neurosonnets: The Naskar Art of Neuroscience, 2025)

  • Science of Life, Class in Session
    (Sonnet 2087-2088)

    Nature doesn't kill anybody,
nor does it save anybody -
life and death are human constructs,
just like beauty and the grotesque -

    nature is above all that,
    not in an almighty, all-knowing
sort of way, but more of
an indifferent sort of way -

    because in nature, nothing's born,
nothing dies, they just change shape,
and some of those shapes are sentient,
    some intelligent, some neither -

    and each identity gets restructured
as they go through the shape-shifting,
    which includes restructure of sentience,
or non-sentience, as the case may be.

Same elements that make the nonsentient stars,
when they change shape into organic material,
such as humans, they produce sentience,
but as a human corpse decay into nature,

those elements get absorbed into the soil,
into trees, bugs, and all sorts of creatures,
thus they seep into a diverse range of
    sentient and nonsentient materials -

    and thus the cycle continues,
from the birth of the universe
till the end of the universe -
    beyond that, I don't know - nobody does -

it doesn't matter what happens after,
what matters is, how you behave now.

(Neurosonnets: The Naskar Art of Neuroscience, 2025)

  • Anatomy of Conspiracy (Sonnet 2094-2095)

    The biggest conspiracy
in the world is to make people
think that there is a conspiracy,

    because when people believe
    in conspiracy, they get paranoid,
and a paranoid population is the ideal
    consumer for various soothsaying items,

from guns, bombs and nuclear weapons,
    to crystals, chemtrails, chakras,
    magnets, gemstones, ouija, racial purity,
and plots of land in the afterlife.

Now, some of these items and ideas may be
    harmless, others downright villainous,
but they are all part and parcel of
an insecure primate's pursuit for control -
delusional though such control may be.

    Conspiracy, superstition, conventional
or newage, it's all about control,
    either self-inflicted or institutionalized -
you are searching for order where there
is none, so your brain cooks up one,

just to keep you satisfied - and you
start seeing faces in the clouds,
or patterns in your star charts.

Keep your mind open, just not so open
that your brain starts leaking -
an empty attic is a primate's olympus.

(Neurosonnets: The Naskar Art of Neuroscience, 2025)

  • Two Drops of Blood (Sonnet)

Pick a drop of blood from your finger,
    pick a drop from another,
smudge it all on the palm of your hand -
now tell me, which is which -
which is heretic, which is believer -

    which is the Christian blood,
    which is the Muslim -
    which is the faithful blood,
    which is forbidden!

You always obsess over skin and bones,
but care the least for the life within –
wake up to life outside dead dogma, and you
can't tell one life from another, it's all one.
(Neurosonnets: The Naskar Art of Neuroscience, 2025)

  • God Eyes (Sonnet)

Perception is not a measure of reality,
perception is a measure of distance -

from afar the sun is a dot,
from farther the milkyway is a dot,
from farther still the universe is a dot.

Likewise, from afar God is an entity,
from up close, God is a state of mind,
get closer still, and you are God.

Perception is like an oscillator circuit,
alter the value of the resistor or
capacitor, and you change the oscillation.

Likewise, truth changes based on the
    resistance, ie. ignorance, and capacitance,
ie. awareness, of your vantage point.
(The God Sonnets: Naskar Art of Theology, 2025)

  • Afterlife is other people
    (Soul Biology, Sonnet 2476)

Like many streams finally meet in the sea,
we are all born of nature, and ultimately
    disperse into nature, our identity,
    our memory, emotions, everything -

then the only place we exist is
in the memories of other people, whose
lives we might have influenced in some way.

There is no transference of soul,
    the way our primitive ancestors believed;
soul is just electrochemical response of
uniquely individual makeup of organic matter,
once that individual makeup breaks down,
    the individual soul simply vanishes.

Your soul disperses as your body does,
but not your role in other people's lives.
Entity can be wiped out, but not existence,
existence that has ignited a few lives.
    (Sonnets From The Mountaintop, 2025)

  • Jashn-e Inquilab, Sonnet 2600
    (Revolution Festivities)

When there is order, but no justice,
when there is faith, but no goodness,
when there is brain, but no benevolence,
when there is custom, but no consciousness -

    when machines behave like people,
    but people behave like vegetable,
    when governments shelter more
    lunatics than lunatic asylums -

    when ICE age looms early,
    terrorizing life and liberty,
when disparity is packaged as prosperity,
and cowardice is the standard of society -

let the festivities of revolution commence,
breaking the fast of convenient apathy -
I am the Imperishable Force of Oneness,
I am Iftar, I am Noel, I am Jashn-e Justice.
