Joan

  • Love isn't just one happy moment, right? It's a million. And it's bickering in the car, and supporting someone when they need it, and it's growing together, and looking after each other.
  • Well, yeah. Maybe the beauty in life is that... Is that things end. You know? Maybe that's what... this is all for.

Larry

  • Knowing you're happy makes me happy. But it only works if you're happy.

Dialogue

Anna: I gotta say, I'm really proud of you, Larry. You're doing the right thing.
Larry: I feel terrible.
Anna: Yeah. That happens. Sometimes doing the right thing does feel terrible.
Larry: So, you never told me why you ended up staying here.
Anna: Um, coming here... I'll just say that coming here was an improvement for me. Here, I get to help lost souls find their happiness. And that gives me a sense of purpose. But after time, you stop caring about what's best for people. You're just pushing them along and making sure the afterlife is ticking over, you know? Sell, sell, sell. But then you came along. Yeah. With that great ordinary love. And you reminded me of why I chose this place. So, thank you for that, Larry.
Larry: Well, I guess you're welcome.

Joan: I'm kind of a fugitive.
Larry: Where you gonna go?
Joan: I know a place. It could be dangerous.
Larry: When do we leave?

Joan: This isn't a competition!
Larry, Luke: Yes, it is!
