Giuseppe Ayala (1945) is an Italian politician and anti-mafia magistrate.

- The appointment was set for early afternoon on Friday, May 22, at Ciampino airport. Falcone, as was often the case, would give me a ride to Palermo on the government plane.
In the morning, he called me to warn me of a change of plan. Francesca would not be able to get off work in time. The takeoff was postponed by twenty-four hours. “Giovanni, arriving in Palermo on Saturday evening and leaving on Monday morning makes me think it's better for me to stay in Rome. Thank you, see you next week.” At 5:59 p.m. that Saturday, 500 kilograms of TNT destroyed five lives and the dignity of this country. I should have been there. The “nobody” who hadn't saved Ninni Cassarà stayed by my side. I owe him my life.
