The Pilot [1.01]

[edit]
Phil Malkin: Why do they make brassieres so pointy? I mean, boobs aren't that pointy. Are we supposed to believe that under a sweater is just two pointy cones? Are pointy cones better?

Colonel Fuller: Well, if normal is what you're after, you two are going to love Derry.

Phil Malkin: Teddy, for this to be true, Matty would have to still be alive. And he'd have to know where every single one of Derry's pipes start and end. And the exact time that Lilly was about to take a bath. And how to aim his voice down a certain pipe so he could stick his little finger up there and wave hello to her.
Teddy Uris: Phil, you've explained one hundred ways how aliens have come to Earth. Tracking our smells, pretending to be dogs, probing our anus.
Phil Malkin: "Ani."

Phil Malkin: I can't go to the loony bin, Teddy. I couldn't make it through goddamn sleepaway camp.

Phil Malkin: There has to be a reason why men have nipples. Think about it.
Teddy Uris: Maybe it's like when we used to have tails and gills and we just evolved out of it.
Phil Malkin: Or it's nature's way of telling us that we're second in line to feed our babies should anything happen to women.
Chief Clint Bowers: This is America.
Councilman Tibbs: This ain't America. This is Derry.

Will Hanlon: Take that stink bomb. Mostly ammonium disulfide and some other stuff. But the point is, those chemicals, it's the same exact stuff that makes up the clouds around Jupiter and Venus. So, yeah, maybe I smell bad. Or maybe I'm just covered in stardust.
Dick Hallorann: It wasn't supposed to see us. It wasn't supposed to know. I got a feeling we keep on like we're doing, something bad is coming.

Dick Hallorann: I've seen what men think about when they're facing death. They think about their families. They think about their regrets. But you? Gun to your head, finger on the trigger. You were analyzing. You were just... collecting information. It's like the part of your brain that's supposed to be afraid, it's not even there. So, you are not the kind of fella I'm likely to fuck with, Major.

Ingrid Kersh: My father used to say that life is about the journey. But I think it's more about who you take that journey with.

Ingrid Kersh: Most people, well... they only believe what they can see. With their own eyes.
Chief Clint Bowers: You kids keep your noses out of police business, or ghouls and goblins will be the very least of your worries.

Louella Grogan: The only one who knows where my son was that night, other than himself, is God. And neither one of them's talking.

Dick Hallorann: Thanks again for that homecooked meal. The best sleep I had since I stumbled out of a cathouse.

Rich Santos: You're saying it wants to eat us?
Will Hanlon: It's just a theory.
Rich Santos: It's a horrible theory!

Ingrid Kersh: My father always said to me that with good friends at your side, anything's possible.
Pennywise as Matty: All of the tunnels go underground where none of the children will ever be found. They wandered away to join the show and lost their way in the world below. They swallowed the pills and they lost their fear. But nothing they hoped to find was here. They joined the circus and left their town. Now they live here down with the clown. Down with the clown, with the clown, down here with the clown, now they live down here with the clown!

Pennywise: Too bad. So sad. You couldn't save ol' Mattyboy. Tasty, tasty Mattyboy.

Rose: You wouldn't be doing any of this if you really remembered everything. What it's like to look it right in the eye. Feel its breath on your neck. You would pack up this entire operation and run.

Lilly Bainbridge: My dad used to say, "In life, people are either anchors or lifeboats. They drag you under or they keep you afloat."
Marge Truman: I think there's something wrong with this Coke.
Airman Jacobs: [after giving her a rum and Coke] Well, nah, you got a... Air Force Coke!
Rich Santos: It tastes kinda funny.
Airman Jacobs: That's the taste of freedom, son.
Rich Santos: Freedom tastes weird.

Rich Santos: Saliva actually has antiseptic properties.
Marge Truman: I don't think that's true.
Rich Santos: Who knows? Science is constantly changing.

Dick Hallorann: This thing I got, when I was little, let me see things.
Leroy Hanlon: Okay. What kind of things?
Dick Hallorann: Dead ones.

Marge Truman: Um, quick question. What if she says no?
Will Hanlon: Say a prayer she doesn't.
Rich Santos: I don't know, man. Last time I said a prayer, my dead tío almost killed us.
Will Hanlon: Okay, well, um... no prayers then.

Lilly Bainbridge: My father is dead.
Ingrid Kersh: Oh, you know what they say about Derry, dear. No one who dies here ever really dies.
Pennywise: [eating someone] What's the matter? Do I have face on my face?

Marge Truman: Let me out!
Rich Santos: Remember what you said? About knights? Knights. Who sleep with something by the bed?
Marge Truman: Ye---Yeah.
Rich Santos: [sacrificing himself, dying] Well, we don't just pee in pots. We also protect fair maidens. Remember the day, that day all the guinea pigs got loose in the hallway 'cause Robbie Mueller, he broke into the science lab? That was my first week of school, and everyone went out to see it. You came out of class with a yellow sweater and a gray skirt with a string tied to your finger.
Marge Truman: You remember that?
Rich Santos: You were so pretty. I remember wondering, "¿Quién es esa?" And you saw me staring and you said, "Take a picture, it'll last longer." You didn't say it mean or anything. I didn't even know what it meant. Later when I figured it out, I remember thinking what I should have said back. "I wish I could."

General Francis Shaw: How are you holding up, Airman?
Dick Hallorann: The fuck it look like?

Charlotte Hanlon: This town is the monster!

General Francis Shaw: Americans are at each other's throats, and it's only getting worse. Anti Nuke crazies, the women's movement, race riots. This country is slowly fracturing into a thousand jagged, ill-fitting pieces. I am only trying to prevent another civil war. Americans have stopped hearing one another. They only want to fight over who gets which piece of the damn pie while the rest of the world eats us alive. And the one thing that makes people really listen is fear.

General Francis Shaw: You may not realize it yet, Major, but the actions you've taken today may very well save this country. You wanted to be a hero. You did it, son.
Ingrid Kersh: Oh, dear. Don't be sad. You know what they say about Derry. No one who dies here ever really dies.
