It's the same the whole world over: It's the poor what gets the blame. It's the rich what gets the pleasure; Ain't it all a bloomin' shame. Chorus of "She Was Poor but She Was Honest", an anonymous street ballad of the late 19th century; cited from Eric Partridge (ed. Paul Beale) A Dictionary of Catch Phrases (London: Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1986) p. 267.

Billy Bennet sang "Isn't it a bloomin' shame." and the song is not an anonymous street ballad, it was written in 1930 by (author later) RPSM (talk) 12:26, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive obscure quotes and pov pushing[edit]

These quotes by Suhas (who is of doubtful notability) were recently added , the quotes are obscure and only published once in a news blog.

The quote is also in about 10 other wikiquote articles.

This is a high level article. This article should have more quotes from books, rather than websites or newspapers, that have timeless quotability. --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 10:25, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
