Changes to policy page reverted
[edit]I have reverted your use of the policy page Wikiquote:Templates/People to create an article for William G. Young. The correct way to create such an article is either to use the link in the previous sentence to edit the page and add your material, or start with the "Add new person" input box (found at Help:Starting a new page) and follow the instructions there. (Please also note that Wikiquote collects succinct quotes, usually no more a few sentences per quote, and not long excerpts of entire speeches or writings.)
I've seen other folks make the mistake of editing this policy page directly, and do not understand what makes them take this approach. Could you help me help others by explaining how you went about creating this article and wound up editing a policy page instead? If there is a confusing set of instructions or advice somewhere on Wikiquote, I might be able to fix the problem. Thank you for your assistance. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 12:05, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
