Inappropriate user name[edit]
You are currently claiming to be Bill Cosby, the actor who portrayed Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show. Based on your edits, which more resemble those of a young person wanting to use Wikiquote for social networking, this seems extremely unlikely. Our username policy forbids users from claiming to be famous people unless they can prove that they are these people.
If you are the famous actor and wish to confirm this, I ask that you send your evidence to me using the "E-mail this user" link in the left margin under "toolbox" on user page. If I do not receive compelling evidence within 48 hours, I will, in my best judgment, consider this an inappropriate username and block it from editing.
If you are not the famous actor, but were merely wanting to adopt an interesting username, please note that the we don't allow such impersonations, even if they were not meant to be harmful. You may request a username change at Wikiquote:Administrators' noticeboard, or directly from any of the Wikiquote bureaucrats listed at Wikiquote:Administrators#List of bureaucrats. I would also be happy to answer any questions you may have. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 20:56, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

- That's fine, but you're still claiming to be Bill Cosby on your user page ("You probably know me best as Cliff Huxtable from The Cosby Show"). ~ Jeff Q (talk) 23:27, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Scratch that. I see that Kalki removed the claim. But please avoid making such claims in the future. Users have quite a bit of freedom with their user pages, but some things, like impersonating well-known living people, are unacceptable. See Wikiquote:User page for more information on what you can and what you shouldn't do with user pages. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 23:34, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Bill Cosby. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Bill Cosby~enwikiquote that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
