The quote on cinema would be more appropriate under a theme page of cinema, or movies, or within a page on the author, not one with a banner headline of its own. It is an interesting quote, worthy of attention, even though I might contend against its casual extremity: Reality is far more than appearances, and yet also far more than a mass hallucination or group delusion. To think otherwise is a personal delusion. —Kalki 23:11, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)

To say that "[t]o think otherwise is a personal delusion" is either based on a misinterpretation of her meaning of which it is hard to conceive being other than deliberate (she is clearly referring to the "world of the senses") or ignoring the primary philosophical trends since the time of Plato. This is characteristic of the unsupported and supportable attacks, from this point of view, on surrealists, idealists and idealists, and the attempts to fight them in a number of different ways, most relevant here being commitment to mental hospitals or other attempts at psychiatric repression for ideological purposes, without any idea that they are "mentally ill", something that didn't just happen in the USSR, doesn't just happen in the PRC, but happens in the USA right now. --Daniel C.
