Mr. Robot (2015–19) is an American USA Network drama about a young computer programmer and hacker Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) who suffers from social anxiety and depression and is recruited into a hacktivist group by a mysterious anarchist known as "Mr. Robot" (Christian Slater). The group aims to cancel almost of all of the world's debts by attacking the massive conglomerate E Corp.

Season 1[edit]

eps1.0_hellofriend.mov [1.1][edit]

Elliot: Hello friend. Hello friend? That's lame. Maybe I should give you a name. But that's a slippery slope, you're only in my head, we have to remember that. Shit, this actually happened, I'm talking to an imaginary person. What I'm about to tell you is top secret. A conspiracy bigger than all of us. There's a powerful group of people out there that are secretly running the world. I'm talking about the guys no one knows about, the ones that are invisible. The top 1% of the top 1%, the guys that play God without permission. And now I think they're following me.

Krista Gordon: What is it about society that disappoints you so much?
Elliot Alderson: Oh, I don't know. Is it that we collectively thought Steve Jobs was a great man, even when we knew he made billions off the backs of children? Or maybe it's that it feels like all our heroes are counterfeit. The world itself's just one big hoax. Spamming each other with our burning commentary of bullshit masquerading as insight. Our social media faking as intimacy. Or is it that we voted for this? Not with our rigged elections, but with our things. Our property. Our money. I'm not saying anything new. We all know why we do this. Not because Hunger Games books makes us happy. But because we wanna be sedated. Because it's painful not to pretend. Because we're cowards. Fuck society.

Mr. Robot: My dad was a petty thief. Never could hold down a job. So he just robbed. Convenience stores, shops. Small-time stuff. One time, he sat me down. He told me something I never forgot. He said, "Everyone steals. That's how it works. You think people out there are getting exactly what they deserve? No. They're getting paid over or under, but someone in the chain always gets bamboozled. I steal, son. But I don't get caught. That's my contract with society. Now, if you can catch me stealing, then I'll go to jail. But if you can't then I've earned the money." I respected that man. I thought that shit was cool, as a little kid. A few years after that, they finally caught him. Sent him to jail. He dies five years later. My respect goes with him. I thought he was free doing what he did, but he wasn't. He was in prison. Just like you are now, Elliot. But I'm gonna break you out.

Mr. Robot: Money hasn't been real since we got off the gold standard. It's become virtual. Software, the operating system of our world. And, Elliot, we are on the verge of taking down this virtual reality. Think about it. What if you could take down one conglomerate? A conglomerate so deeply entrenched in the world's economy that "too big to fail" doesn't even come close to describing it?

Mr. Robot: You don't take down a conglomerate by shooting them in the heart. That's the thing about conglomerates, they don't have hearts. You take them down limb by limb. And as they unravel, their illusion of control unravels.

Elliot Alderson: I'm good at reading people. My secret: I look for the worst in them.

Lloyd: I think they got a rootkit inside the server.
Gideon: What's a rootkit?
Lloyd: It's like a crazy serial rapist with a very big dick.
Angela: Jesus, Lloyd.

eps1.1_ones-and-zerOes.mpeg [1.2][edit]

Tyrell Wellick: "Give a man a gun and he can rob a bank, but give a man a bank, and he can rob the world." It's a bit of a silly expression, actually. A little reductive, but still I like it, for the same reason most people hate it, because to me it means that power belongs to the people that take it. Nothing to do with their hard work, strong ambitions, or rightful qualifications, no. The actual will to take is often the only thing that's necessary.

Darlene: The douche I was dating proposed to me, can you believe? I mean, what an asshole.

Mr. Robot: That neat little ditty was Trenton's idea. She may look innocent, but I'd be careful. She's got some Allah Akbar in her.

Mr. Robot: The world is a dangerous place, Elliot, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Fernando Vera: You remind me of me when I was younger, depressed and sullen. Matter of fact, tried to kill myself, a couple of times. Never could get that shit right. Biology wasn't my strong suit. I hated myself, man. Still do. Thought that shit was a weakness for a long time. Then I realized that shit was my power. People walk around, act like they know what hate means. Nah, no one does, until you hate yourself. I mean truly hate yourself. That's power.

eps1.2_d3bug.mkv [1.3][edit]

Elliot: This is the world we live in. People relying on each other's mistakes to manipulate one another, use one another, even relate to one another. A warm, messy circle of humanity.

Mr. Robot: People who get violent get that way because they can't communicate.

Elliot: I'm gonna be normal now. Maybe Shayla could even be my girlfriend. I'll go see those stupid Marvel movies with her. I'll join a gym. I'll heart things on Instagram. I'll drink vanilla lattes.

Elliot: Shit. I'm gonna have to let him hug me, aren't I?

Elliot: She's got her own private maze too. Shayla's bug was always elusive to me. Wanting normalcy but stuck in the outer fringes, not knowing how to participate. Just like me.

esp1.3_da3m0ns.mp4[edit]

Qwerty: Don't be shy now. You can come closer. Unsettling I know, your pet beta fish chatting you up. But time's money, Elliot.
Elliot: You need something? Your water, does it need changing?
Qwerty: When you live in a fishbowl, ain't no such thing as change. My entire life's been spent in this thing, my whole world's on your side table. I look around. Same shit, different day. The lighting, the furniture, even the sounds. Always the same. I'm on a loop. And it won't stop unless my life does. I'm exhausted with this world.
Elliot: What can I do? I wanna help.
Qwerty: I think it's pretty obvious. There's really only one thing you can do for a brother in a fish bowl.
Elliot: What is it?
Qwerty: Move him to a god damn window!

Elliot: Daemons. They don't stop working. They are always active. They seduce. They manipulate. They own us. And even though you're with me, even though I created you, it makes no difference. We all must deal with them alone. The best we can hope for...The only silver lining in all of this...is that when we break through, we find a few familiar faces waiting on the other side.

Elliot: There's a saying. The devil's at his strongest when we're looking the other way, like a program running in the background silently, while we're busy doing other shit. Daemons, they call them. They perform action without user interaction. Monitoring, logging, notifications. Primal urges, repressed memories, unconscious habits. They're always there, always active. We can try to make a difference, but it's all bullshit. 'Cause intentions are irrelevants. They don't drive us. Daemons do. And me? I've got more than most.

esp1.4_3xpl0its.wmv[edit]

Elliot: Nothing is actually impenetrable. A place like this says it is, and it's close, but people still built this place. And if you can hack the right person, all of the sudden you have a piece of powerful malware. People always make the best exploits. I've never found it hard to hack most people. If you listen to them, watch them, their vulnerabilities are like a neon sign screwed into their heads.

Romero: I bet you right now some writer's working hard on a TV show that'll mess up this generation's idea of hacker culture.

Tyrell Wellick: Even extraordinary people, and I believe you are, are driven by human banalities. And, unfortunately, we're all human.

Joanna Wellick: Even if they're content or don't want anything, they will. You just have to take away what they already have.

Elliot: My father picked me up from school one day and we played hookey and went to the beach. It was too cold to go in the water so we sat on a blanket and ate pizza. When I got home my sneakers were full of sand and I dumped it on my bedroom floor. I didn't know the difference, I was six. My mother screamed at me for the mess but he wasn't mad. He said that billions of years ago the world's shifting and ocean moving brought that sand to that spot on the beach and then I took it away. Every day he said we change the world. Which is a nice thought until I think about how many days and lifetimes I would need to bring a shoe full of sand home until there is no beach. Until it made a difference to anyone. Every day we change the world. But to change the world in a way that means anything that take more time that most people have. It never happens all at once. It's slow. It's methodical. It's exhausting. We don't all have the stomach for it.

esp1.5_br4ve-trave1er.asf[edit]

Elliot: I, Elliot Alderson, am flight. I am fear. I am anxiety, terror, panic.

Elliot: I suppose a bullet through the brain is peaceful in its own right.

Mr. Robot: True courage is about being honest with yourself. Especially when it's difficult.

Elliot: Life is so much easier when you're numb.

Elliot: For all his insane and inhumane ideas, he does understand the world. The wild savagery of the world.

esp1.6_v1ew-s0urce.flv[edit]

Krista: Elliot? I wasn't expecting you.
Elliot: I'm here for my appointment.
Krista: Well, you can slip in before my first patient.
Elliot: You told me I should tell you the truth.
Krista: Yes.
Elliot: Everything I say will still be protected and confidential?
[Beat]
Elliot: I've been lying to you. I don't take my pills. But you don't either. Your refill frequency for Ativan doesn't match your prescription divided by the dosage. This morning... you bought a tall hazelnut latte. Paid for it on your Evil Corp card. By text, you justified the indulgence to your sister because Evil Corp gives you double rewards. But those points only accumulate on travel expenses. You're not good with money. On paper, your Thursday 2:00, Marilyn O'Brien, is your doppelganger. I think you're encouraging her to leave her husband... because you're tired of being dumped. You like porn, especially anal. Whether you like it yourself, I don't know. That's not relevant to me. You've told your best friend Jennifer that you wish your mom would die. I sometimes watch you on your webcam. You cry sometimes... just like me. Because you're lonely. I don't just hack you, Krista. I hack everyone... my friends, coworkers. But I've helped a lot of people. I want... a way out of loneliness. Just like you. Is that what you wanted to hear?

esp1.7_wh1ter0se.m4V[edit]

Terry Colby: You can ask me anything you want, but at the end of the day money is always going to be better than what you're looking for.

Trenton: Have you ever considered which part of our scheme motivates you? When the Dark Army bailed, you didn't care if pushing a button would bring about an economic revolution. You want momentary anarchy. The others - Mobley likes palling around, Romero wants a whiff of fame. Those reasons depress me.
Darlene: What's the part you want?
Trenton: My parents were born in Iran. They came here like everybody else, for freedom. But my dad works 60hr weeks to determine tax loopholes for a millionaire art dealer. My mom ran up loans into five digits to get an online degree. They won't shut up about how great America is, but they're going to die in debt doing things they never wanted to do.

Elliot: Hackers. We inherently trust no one, including each other. I'll never be able to tell her there will always be this divide, my walls she can't look over...and she knows it.

Whiterose: Every hacker has her fixation. You hack people. I hack time.

Elliot: I hurt Krista. I don't feel good about that. I hope you're not mad at me, but you have to admit she is just like everyone else. Too afraid to peek over their walls for fear of what they might see. Not me. That's what I do. I look.

esp1.8_m1rr0r1ng.qt[edit]

Tyrell Wellick: How long has this been going on?
Elliot: I don't know.
Tyrell Wellick: And what is it that you're doing exactly?
Elliot: Encrypting all the files, all the Evil Corp's financial records will be impossible to access. The encryption key will self-delete after the process complete.
Tyrell Wellick: What about the backups?
Elliot: I took care of that too. China...
Tyrell Wellick: Steel Mountain? Of course, even when we went redundant.
Elliot: I hacked the AirDream network. I was in all of them.
Tyrell Wellick: You really thought of everything. Who else was involved?
Elliot: Just me.
Tyrell Wellick: Well, now it's you and me. I've always told we'd end up working together, Elliot. But still, I have to know. Why did you do it? What did you hope to accomplish by doing all of this?
Elliot: I don't know. I wanted to save the world.

esp1.9_zer0-day.avi[edit]

Elliot: So this is what a revolution looks like? People in expensive clothing running around? Not how I pictured it.

Mr. Robot: I'm only supposed to be your prophet; you're supposed to be my God.

Mr. Robot: Is any of it real? I mean, look at this, look at it! A world built on fantasy! Synthetic emotions in the form of pills! Psychological warfare in the form of advertising! Mind altering chemicals in the form of food! Brainwashing seminars in the form of media! Controlled isolated bubbles in the form of social networks. Real? You want to talk about reality? We haven't lived in anything remotely close to it since the turn of the century! We turned it off, took out the batteries, snacked on a bag of GMOs, while we tossed the remnants into the ever expanding dumpster of the human condition. We live in branded houses, trademarked by corporations, built on bipolar numbers, jumping up and down on digital displays, hypnotizing us into the biggest slumber mankind has ever seen. You'd have to dig pretty deep, kiddo, before you can find anything real. We live in a kingdom of bullshit, that even you have lived in for far too long. So don't tell me about not being real: I'm no less real than the fucking beef patty in your big mac. As far as you concerned, Elliot, I am very real. We are all together now, whether you like it or not.

Season 2[edit]

esp2.0_unm4sk-pt1.tc[edit]

Elliot: I still don't understand why people like sports. They get emotional over the weirdest things. But I do see the beauty in the rules. The invisible code of chaos hiding behind the menacing face of order.

Leon: Maybe that's the show's point, that shit is just pointless, ya know? Life, love, and the meaning's therein. I tell you, the human condition is a straight up tragedy, cuz.

Elliot: You might not think it's a way to live, but why not? Repeating the same tasks everyday without having to think about them. Isn't that what everybody does - keep things on repeat? To go along with the NCIS's, their Lexapro. Isn't that where it's comfortable - in the sameness?

Mr. Robot: This control you think you have, it's an illusion.

Elliot: How do I take off a mask when it stops being a mask? When it's as much a part of me as I am?

Elliot: We keep fighting. Like the world we unmasked, we will find our true selves again. Maybe, after wiping away the thick, grimy film of Facebook friend requests and vine stars, we can all see the light of day.

esp2.0_unm4sk-pt2.tc[edit]

Phillip Price: You see, that is the business model for this great nation of ours. Every day when that market bell rings we con people into believing in something - the American dream, or family values, could be freedom fries for all I care. It doesn't matter, as long as the con works and people buy and sell whatever it is we want them to. If I resign, then any scrap of confidence the public is already clinging onto will be destroyed. And we all know the con doesn't work without the confidence.

Elliot: When you look closely at the seams between order and chaos, do you see the same things I see? The strain, the tears, the glimpses of truth hidden underneath. Why do they fight so desperately to mask who they are? Or is they become who they are when they put on the mask? What mask do you wear? Or are you just as afraid as the rest of them? Me, am I afraid? Nah man, I'm different.

Antara Nayar: Guy walks up to a woman at a bar. He flirts with her, he makes small talk, but the woman insists she isn't going to go home with him. Guy says, "What if I offer you a million dollars to sleep with me?" The woman has never had a million dollars in her life. She stops and considers the offer very seriously. Guy changes his mind and says, "What if I change my offer to a dollar instead?" The woman is aghast, "What kind of woman do you think I am?" Guys says, "Well we've already figured that out, now we're just negotiating."

esp2.1_k3rnel-pan1c.ksd[edit]

Romero: I'm too broke to be superstitious.

Elliot: Can I tell you a secret? It's been three days since I slept. I'm up to about two hundred milligrams now. But that's not the secret. He's gone.

Elliot: Damn, these dishes look immaculate.

Elliot: Even the dumb basketball game is enthralling. The ball goes into a hoop! Of course!

Elliot: [talking to the audience] You're not buying any of this either.
Elliot: [voiceover] Are you?

Elliot: It was feeling good, for a few days. It really was, wasn't it? But this is the fifth day of not sleeping, I think. "Fifth"... Isn't that a funny word? Shit. There it is again. The overwhelming fear building. The burrowing. The nesting. The scream.

Elliot: My internal fatal error, from which I cannot safely recover. Kernel panic. Day number six without sleep. I'm crashing. I’m crashing. Next, my consciousness will go. The panic isn’t settling in any more. It’s just there. The scream in my mind is coming back.

Mr. Robot: I have burrowed underneath your brain. I am nested there. I am the scream in your mind. You will cooperate, my son. I will make you, because I own you.
Elliot: I will not be owned.

Elliot: Mr. Robot has become my God, and like all gods their madness takes you prisoner.

Elliot: Is that what God does? He helps? Tell me, why didn't God help my innocent friend who died for no reason while the guilty roam free? Okay, fine. Forget the one-offs. How about the countless wars declared in his name? Okay, fine. Let's skip the random, meaningless murder for a second, shall we? How about the racist, sexist, phobia soup we've all been drowning because of him? And I'm not just talking about Jesus. I'm talking about all organized religion...exclusive groups created to manage control, a dealer getting people hooked on the drug of hope, his followers nothing but addicts who want their hit of bullshit to keep their...their dopamine of ignorance, addicts afraid to believe the truth...that there is no order, there's no power, that all religions are just metastasizing mind worms meant to divide us so it's easier to rule us by the charlatans that want to run us. All we are to them are paying fanboys of their poorly written sci-fi franchise. If I don't listen to my imaginary friend, why the fuck should I listen to yours? People think their worship's some key to happiness. That's just how he owns you. Even I'm not crazy enough to believe that distortion of reality. So fuck God. He's not a good enough scapegoat for me.

Phillip Price: You're panicking right now. I understand. It's a big decision you're making, because, these men, their lives will be destroyed. But the minute you remove emotion from this, you'll do just fine.

Ray: Control is about as real as a one-legged unicorn taking a piss at the end of a double rainbow...You know that bullshit people say about how when you fall you gotta get up? I reject that shit, man. You know why? The whole thing is a fall, it can't help but be. A perpetual state of grasping in the dark. It's not about getting up, it's about stumbling, stumbling in the right direction. It's the only true way to move forward.

Elliot: Maybe it's not about avoiding the crash. But it's about setting a break point to find the flaw in the code, fix it, and carry on until you hit the next flaw, the quest to keep going...to always fight for footing. Maybe we're all just stumbling from the right questions to the wrong answers, or from the right answers to the wrong questions. It doesn't matter where you go and where you come from, as long as you keep stumbling. Maybe that's all it takes. Maybe that's as good as it gets.

esp2.2_init_1.asec[edit]

Elliot: Asking for help was never Darlene's strong suit, but then again is it anyone's? An admission of weakness. But you can't avoid the simple truth - the only way to patch a vulnerability is by exposing it first. The flip side being that exposing the vulnerability leaves you open for an exploit.

Mr. Robot: You wanna unburden yourself, go jerk off. This is a road paved with your dead friends and family.

Elliot: Annihilation is always the answer. We destroy parts of ourselves everyday. We photoshop our warts away, we edit the parts we hate about ourselves, modify the parts we think people hate. We curate our identity, carve it, distill it. Krista's wrong - annihilation is all we are.

Cisco: We're past fragile. The shit that we're in is fucking shattered into a million little pieces.

Darlene: You wanna help? Be a man and let me be upset.

Leon: You know, back in the age of Enlightenment, mo'fuckers used chess as a means of self improvement, 'cuz there wasn't no Tony Robbins DVDs back then - this was it. So what you playin' for then? If there's no who, then what's the what? What's it for?
Elliot: Existence.
Leon: Dope, that's some high stakes right there. So what you waitin' on?
Elliot: What?
Leon: Do you dream Elliot? You scrapin' so hard like you ain't never asked yourself this before. I said do you wanna be here right now? And I don't mean like here here, I mean like here in a cosmic sense, bro. Like, existence could be beautiful, or it could be ugly, but that's on you.
Elliot: How do I know which one is for me?
Leon: Dream. You gotta find out the future you're fightin' for. Sometimes you gotta close your eyes and really envision that shit, bro. If you like it, then it's beautiful; if you don't, then you might as well fade the fuck out right now.

Ray: Did you know that Moses heard voices too? Abraham, John, Paul, Jesus. In fact, many prophets confessed to hearing voices. People like you, what you have, it can be divinity, Elliot, if you let it.

esp2.3_logic-b0mb.hc[edit]

Joanna Wellick: Killing a man instantly robs him of explanation. He has no time to process his final moments. Now, even though he was paralyzed, his mind was still able to understand why his life was ending. We let him die with answers, otherwise we're nothing but ruthless murderers.

Dom DiPierro: I was...I am disgusted by the selfish brutality of the world, but at the same time I am utterly fascinated by it. The FBI is the perfect place for that kind of contradiction.

Lone Star: Never trust a tech guy with a rat tail - too easy to carve secrets out of him.

esp2.4_m4ster-s1ave.aes[edit]

Elliot: Every relationship is a power struggle. Some of us need to be controlled.

esp2.5_h4ndshake.sme[edit]

Leon: Just remember cuz, you're sittin' underneath the sword of Damocles.

Phillip Price: Don't we all protect our evil secret agendas?

Elliot: People always told me growing up that it's never about the destination, it's about the journey. But what if the destination is you? What if it's always been you?

ECorp RM Director: Usually they feed us. It's one of the only reasons to come to these meetings.

Elliot: Control can sometimes be an illusion, but sometimes you need illusion to gain control. Fantasy is an easy way to give meaning to the world, to cloak our harsh reality in escapist comfort. After all, isn't that why we surround ourselves with so many screens? So we can avoid seeing? So we can avoid each other? So we can avoid truth.

esp2.6_succ3ss0r.p12[edit]

Darlene: Oh, the old malicious browser benchmark trick. I see you already owned this noob's whole system. I like it. Didn't your mom ever tell you not to surf websites that have an embedded stage-fright exploit? Can't drop the proverbial soap around a black hat bitch like this, Mobley.

esp2.7_init_5.fve[edit]

Leon: You don't want to be alone in a place like this, cuz.

Phillip Price: I'm a mercenary. I don't play fair. I play what I want. When you deal with a mercenary then all decorum gets tossed out the window. So you go ahead with your cute threats and your watch beeps. Order will not protect you anymore, my friend. I will rain chaos. Even if it hurts me. Because I would rather see you lose than win myself.

esp2.8_h1dden-pr0cess.axx[edit]

Terry Colby: That's my last advanced copy. It's trending on Amazon's Movers and Shakers. It's ahead of Trump's latest. Can you believe that cocksucker is actually running this time?

Phillip Price: Politics is for puppets.

Terry Colby: Is there a pocket of the world you don't have your hand in? You're trading countries like playing cards.
Phillip Price: Isn't that what history is all about? Politically, economically, and geographically? Imaginary lines being drawn and redrawn, over and over again.
Terry Colby: Yeah...uh, Phillip, I gotta know. What do you do it for? I mean, all of it?
Phillip Price: Honestly?
Terry Colby: Yeah.
Phillip Price: In my life as I was making my way, I always asked the question; am I the most powerful person in the room? The answer needed to be yes. To this day, I still ask that question. And the answer is still yes. In every room in the entire world, the answer is yes. With the exception of one. Or two. And that drives me. I intend to leave a legacy. The standard of which was set by God, when he created the earth, and man after his own image. Anything less is... not worth mentioning.

Elliot: Is this the future I was fighting for? The system is hung, frozen in limbo. Did we lose the fight? Maybe wars aren't meant to be won, maybe they're meant to be continuous.

esp2.9_pyth0n-pt1.p7z[edit]

Elliot: We can't beat them, but we don't have to lose to them either. Maybe there's a way to keep them from winning.

Phillip Price: C'mon, we've know each other for years. You know full well I don't give a shit about you. So please, don't hold a personal grudge just because you lost. Defeats can still be profitable.

Whiterose: I've always found doors fascinating inventions. The hold the entry to unlimited imagination. Before you open any door a world filled with possibilities is behind it, and it isn't until you open it that they are realized. Such potential they bring to our minds, and yet a lock stopped you from all of that. How...lazy.

Whiterose: Fear. How easy a quicksand of time people let that become.

Whiterose: I don't want your proof. I want your belief.

esp2.9_pyth0n-pt2.p7z[edit]

Elliot: It's one thing to question your mind; it's another to question your eyes and ears. But, then again, isn't it all the same? Our senses just mediocre inputs to our brain? Sure, we rely on them, trust they accurately portray the real world around us, but what if the haunting truth is they can't? That what we perceive isn't the real world at all, but just our mind's best guess? That all we really have is a garbled reality, a truly fuzzy picture we will never make out?

Season 3[edit]

eps3.0power-saver-mode.h[edit]

Elliot: Darlene’s right. I can’t trust them. This was too easy. But at least I stopped them. For now. I can go home knowing that. But was she right about me? Am I sticking my head in the sand? Did my revolution just bury our minds instead of freeing them? Encrypting Evil Corp’s data was meant to empower us, but instead, it left us powerless, scaring us into even more submission. Five/Nine didn’t get rid of the invisible hand. It turned it into a fist that punched us in the dick. And, like a botnet, the fear I created is spreading so fast, it’s practically airborne. It’s swallowed us whole, digested us, and now we’re stuck in its asshole, waiting to be dumped out. And while we’re here, they are having their way with us. They’ve packaged our fight into product, turned our dissent into intellectual property, televising our revolution with commercial breaks. They’ve backdoored into our minds and robbed our truth, refurbished the facts, then marked up the price. This is what they do. This is what they’re good at. This is their greatest trick. Lobotomizing us into their virtual reality horror show. And this all started because I tried to hide from society. Remember? [Fuck society.] Yeah, I fucked society all right. I reset it to zero and if I don’t do anything about it, it’ll continue to grow in this malignant way. And that’s what I’m afraid of the most. This dark future I set in motion. Who knows what could come from this… What if, instead of fighting back, we cave? Give away our privacy for security. Exchange dignity for safety. Trade in revolution for repression. What if we choose weakness over strength? They’ll even have us build our own prison. This is what they wanted all along. For us to buy in on our worst selves. And I just made it easier for them. I didn’t start a revolution; I just made us docile enough for their slaughtering. And I can stand here and blame Evil Corp and every other conglomerate out there for taking advantage of us. Blame the FBI, NSA, CIA for letting them get away with this. Blame all the world’s leaders for aiding and abetting them. Blame Adam Smith for inventing modern-day capitalism in the first f*cking place. Blame money for dividing us. Blame us for letting it. But none of that’s true. The truth is, I’m the one to blame. I’m the problem. This was my fault. All of it. I did this.

eps3.1_undo.gz[edit]

Whiterose: Don't mistake my generosity for generosity.

eps3.2_legacy.so[edit]

Frank Cody: I mean, the guy's a buffoon. He's completely divorced from reality. How would you even control him?
Whiterose: If you pull the right strings, a puppet will dance any way you desire.

eps3.4_runtime-error.r00[edit]

Elliot [voiceover]: Samar is right. HR is firing someone. Me. Fuck, I can't leave the building until I get back on a machine and figure out how they're planning on getting around my patch. [aloud] Samar, I need you to distract them for me.
Samar: Wait, what?
Elliot [voiceover, as he flees]: Help me figure this out. Do not leave me. Stay focused.
Samar [to HR director]: Excuse me, I had a question for you.
HR: We're looking for Elliot Alderson. Do you know where he is?
Samar: Oh, yeah, yeah, he's on floor eleven. You know, they have the best bathrooms, and he likes to take his morning dump around this time.
HR: Samar, you need to be serious right now. We have talked about these micro-aggressions of yours.
Samar: I am being serious. He told me he was crowning his whole commute.

Irving: See that up there?
Mr. Robot: What is this?
Irving: You know why those people are enjoying themselves so much, even though thousands died today in the biggest attack in U.S. history?
Mr. Robot: That wasn't my fault. That wasn't supposed to happen. I wanna know who made that call. Was it Tyrell? What about this other attack? That was never a part of my plan.
Irving: See, kid, that's been your mistake the entire time, thinking this whole thing's about your silly little plan. No, your revolution was only allowed to happen 'cause it was bought and paid for people like them. Face it, no matter how hard you try... That's always the end result.
Mr. Robot: What the hell? You're going in?
Irving: Uh, mistress of a senator we got on the payroll. Powdered her nose with some bad shit, died a couple hours ago. I'm just here to make it scandal-free. You see what I mean? Literally, nothing can stop these shindigs, not thousands dead across the country, not a lifeless mistress in the guest bathroom. Hm.

eps3.7_dont-delete-me.ko[edit]

Mohammed: Did you know I could be President of the United States?
Elliot: Yeah?
Mohammed: My sister couldn't be. She wasn't born here. My mom and dad couldn't either. I'm the only person in my family who could be President. Isn't that cool?
[pauses]
Mohammed: If I were President I would be able to stay here, in the house we live in. I would find a way to bring back my sister. I'd put the real bad guys in jail. And... And I'd make everyone eat Pop Tarts for dinner. And then make everyone be nice to me.
Elliot: So you'd be a dictator.

Elliot: Deletion. When you make that decision, there's always that moment of hesitation. That annoying "Are you sure?" dialogue box, and then you have to make a decision. Yes or no. Yes means ridding the world of Mr. Robot forever. That includes you. Maybe it's something I should have done a long time ago.

eps3.8_stage3.torrent[edit]

Mr. Robot: There are no gods. Our closest deities are a society of the richest, most influential men in existence. I'm done with this. Men who fuck over the rest of us for profit, for fun, and then leave us in the streets for dead.

Tyrell Wellick: I know what this is. You're embarrassed that you fired me. There's no shame in admitting the truth. You're out of moves and your company needs me. E Corp needs my image, the face of a hero. That's why you're here.
Phillip Price: Oh, Wellick, Wellick. It's not that I'm out of moves. It's that you're not worth one.

Mr. Robot: Five/Nine, fsociety... You knew the entire time, didn't you?
Phillip Price: Five/Nine, yes. Well, not all the minutiae, of course. But since the cyber bombings, the breadcrumbs haven't been that difficult to follow.
Phillip Price: World catastrophes like this, they aren't caused by lone wolves like you. They occur because men like me allow them. You just happened to stumble into one of them.
Mr. Robot: No, no. I ran the operation. I pushed the button. I am the one--
Phillip Price: There you go again. "I, I, I..." You are still thinking like a lone wolf.
Mr. Robot: Why don't you tell me how I should be thinking?
Phillip Price: Like a leader!
Mr. Robot: I am a leader.
Phillip Price: Then where are your followers?
Phillip Price: You can't force an agenda, Mr. Alderson. You have to inspire one.

eps3.9_shutdown-r[edit]

Elliot: I should never have done this. I should have left this alone. I'll never learn. I brought this upon myself. I'll never learn. This is on me. This is on me.

Mr. Robot: So. Ferris wheel. Cute touch.
Elliot: I need information from you.
Mr. Robot: You do not get to summon me like you're Ali Baba. Squeeze me for information, then shove me back in some lamp.
Elliot: Darlene's in trouble! She might already be dead!
Mr. Robot: The whole reason you're in this goddamn mess is because we're not working together, because YOU refuse to talk to me!
Elliot: I wish that were true! The sick part is... I actually missed you. The only reason we haven't been talking is because I haven't let myself. Because I've been scared of you. The part of me that is you.
Mr. Robot: Why are we talking now?
Elliot: 71 buildings.
Mr. Robot: I didn't know about that.
Elliot: If you did, would you have done it?
[Mr. Robot is silent]
Elliot: Would you have done it?
Mr. Robot: I would've... I would've found another way.
Elliot: ...because as much as there is a part of you in me, there's a part of me in you.

Irving: A story could have a mediocre beginning and middle, and oftentimes it does, but always gotta have a wow ending. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Elliot: It wasn't Romero. It was you who exported the keys. Why?
Mr. Robot: We're close, Elliot. You pull the ripcord now and everything will be for nothing. There was a huge cost to get to this point. I still believe if we hold out a little longer-
Elliot: No.
Mr. Robot: You do this, and they will have won. You really believe undoing this is gonna fix anything? Huh? Do you? I mean who is this really gonna help?
Elliot: Me. I'm doing this for me. I can't live with what I did anymore. And you're wrong. They won't win. Because one good thing came out of all of this. They showed themselves. The top one percent of the one percent. The ones in control. The ones who play god without permission. And now I'm gonna take them down. All of them.

Darlene: Can I help you, fellas?
Fernando Vera: My sister, only the north stars of the cosmos can help a visionary like me. But, yes, you can shine a light on a dark corner of my mind.
Darlene: What? Who are you?
Fernando Vera: I'm just... I'm just a brave traveler who's finally come home.

Season 4[edit]

401 Unauthorized[edit]

Mr. Robot: I know we don't usually do this, but I have to fill you in if he won't. That's why you're back, isn't it? To help? You gotta be noticing it, then, too. That he isn't talking to you. He doesn't talk to me that much, either, not since Angela died. Darlene's right. He's shutting down, compartmentalizing the pain, living in the distraction, just like the holidays: the plastic trees, the annoying Christmas carols.
[Cut to a group of carolers singing "O Come, All Ye Faithful]
Mr. Robot: One big song-and-dance production to sell ourselves the theater that everything's jolly, at least for a moment. But when it's all over, Santa's gone back to his shitty day job. The trees get disassembled and thrown in a closet. The music's faded away. What then? That's why you can't go anywhere. I know he's keeping you away, but I'll let you in. Don't think I'm doing it for you, though. Let's be clear. I still don't give a shit about you, but he does. This does not feel right to me. E Corp owns the building. They own half of Manhattan. We stick to the plan. And right now, Elliot needs you more than he lets on, because when that cold, brutal reality closes in on us, we're gonna need a friend, and that's still what you are, right?

402 Payment Required[edit]

Mr. Robot: There’s the cost of living and the cost of dying. Seems you’re paying the price whether you’re coming or going.

404 Not Found[edit]

Tyrell: I just got it. Why you wear that hoodie. I've never seen you in anything else. Black hoodie, black jeans, black shoes, always the same. I've been wondering this whole time, but now I finally get it. You don't care. Sure, why not? Silk tie, $6,000 suit. I mean, it sounds pathetic to say aloud, but I actually care. And you know what? That's why I'm a failure. My entire life, I've been an outsider, worried what other people think of me, how I can make them happy, because I needed their approval and their acceptance. But you never cared. The first day we met, there we were, Allsafe's most important clients roaming through the office, and you couldn't care less.

Darlene: I have lost absolutely everyone, my boyfriend, my best friend, my parents. The only one I have left is my brother, who is an asshole that treats me like absolute shit. But I'm really worried about him right now, and it pisses me off that I'm worried, because I am always worried about him, and he flat-out told me to fuck off. So why do I bother? I don't know. I don't know, I'm afraid this time it's different. I'm afraid he might be dead.

Mr. Robot: Seems like we're always thinking of ourselves when looking for something that's lost, but we never think much about the lost, whatever, whoever is unable to be found, whether it's a set of keys left somewhere and forgotten, a couple of guys wandering aimlessly in the woods, or someone who's disappeared inside himself. What if that's what they wanted all along? Not to be found.

Elliot: You're wrong. I don't like being an outsider either. Maybe I'm just good at hiding it.
Tyrell: Why'd you come back? Why aren't you going?
Elliot: I guess it felt wrong to leave you. Besides, I think you're the only person I know that actually likes me. You were right about one thing. I've known that we're gonna die since we walked out of that gas station and the van was gone. I don't think there's a way out of this for us.
Tyrell: Why do you wanna keep going?
Elliot: My sister. I have to warn her. I have to at least try. I got her into this mess. Same as last time and the time before that. I've been a horrible brother. I treated her like shit. Least I can do is call her and tell her to run... Maybe she can still escape.

Tyrell: I'm just gonna go for a walk.

406 Not Acceptable[edit]

Fernando Vera: I'm gonna tell you a story. A story of a true "Xmas" miracle. This is the tale of a bully and a little bitch. I'm talking about a mean, nasty bully and a scrawny-ass little bitch. This bully would pick on the little bitch every day after school. If little bitch had cash, little bitch got robbed. If little bitch bowed up, little bitch got stomped. Point I'm trying to make here is, this bully owned that bitch like a Lincoln Continental, but something happened to change it all. On this Xmas of our tale, little bitch got lucky with the gifts, see? Something little bitch loved more than anything before family, God, and country was baseball. Loved the shit out of it. Well, on this Xmas morning when he got out of his little bedroom and looked under his little tree, guess what he found. An Easton Magnum aluminum baseball bat. Little bitch grabbed that bat and went right outside to play. Didn't even take the bow off, he was so excited. And there he was on the corner ball field, hitting balls like he was Sammy Sosa when his bully comes up, eyeing that bat. And just as the bully made his way up to him, without any warning bam! Blood. Fuckin' everywhere. Blood on the ground, blood on little bitch, blood dripping down the bow still wrapped around that bat. Little bitch knocked every tooth out of that motherfucker's head. Cracked his skull open, popped his eyeball out on home plate. All because little bitch saw the truth. That bat may have been made to play ball, but that wasn't its purpose. Nuh-uh. In that moment in little bitch's hands, it was there to break this nigga's head open. See, Ms. Krista, we all have a purpose in this world, and it's our lot in life to wait for the cosmos to reveal what that is. But you don't have to look no more 'Cause for you, that day has come. Want to know why? I'm gonna break Elliot and you gonna be my aluminum bat.
[...]
Fernando Vera: Now before your boy came and went, you were calling me a little bitch? Chill, girl. I didn't take no offense. In fact, this was my bad, 'cause I didn't tell you the whole story. See, I was just explaining your role to you. That you my bat. But that bat ain't the end of the story. Nah. That's where I come in. So after being beaten within an inch of his life by that badass little bitch, the bully woke up in the hospital. It was right then when little bitch walked in like the fucking ghost of Xmas past. Bully sees him and starts crying. I mean, this nigga was scared. He must have thought that boy had come to finish him off. But you know what happened? Little bitch just walked right up to his bully's bed And held his hand. Yep. He held his hand just like so. Real soft and gentle-like. And then he got real close. He looks at his bully, all sniffling and crying. He looked at him and said "I see you now." Little bitch showed up when no one else would. He saw his bully like no one else could and that was all it took. And, Miss Krista, from that moment on, he owned that bully for life. Now, if I want to own Elliot, I don't just gotta break him. Me and Elliot are linked on a spiritual plane. I got to come at him on the same level I find myself, and and breaking him only gets you so far. I gotta break him so I can build him up. I need to wound his soul so I can be the one to heal him. That is how you own a nigga.

Olivia Cortez: You know I may work for monsters, but you are one. And you’re the worst kind, because you don’t even know it.

Mr. Robot: There it is. That sense of dread. It only happens when you cross a line you didn’t even know existed. Maybe that dread is a good thing. After all, when you realize you’ve crossed a line… that means you still had one. When those crossed lines are all behind you, up ahead is only darkness.

Mr. Robot: Here we go again, off to play the hero. But is that even who we are anymore? You saw what we did back there. We just watched him destroy someone's life and none of us did a thing about it. Rules, morals, parameters they only break if you're broken to begin with. Did we change under pressure, or did this only reveal who we really are? I don't know anymore.

407 Proxy Authentication Required[edit]

Mr. Robot: You wanna talk? Let's talk.
Fernando Vera: How do I know it's you? I didn't see no puff of smoke.
Mr. Robot: Let's get one thing straight, fuck-face. I ain't no puff of smoke.
Fernando Vera: Welcome to the party, Mr. Robot.

[Peanuts raises a gun to Mr. Robot's head.]
Peanuts: Where's your courage now, bitch?
[Robot looks straight at her.]
Mr. Robot: Right fuckin' here.

Mr. Robot: This is cute and all, but I gotta be real with you. You're too stupid to do this.
Fernando Vera: What is it that you think I'm doing, exactly?
Mr. Robot: Trying to get inside my head.
Fernando Vera: Oh, I'm already in there.

Fernando Vera: 'Cause there's a method to Elliot's madness, and I think you know what it is.
Mr. Robot: You wanna know what it is? I'll tell you what it is. He's smart. He's angry. Put those two things together, you stay the fuck out of the way.

Mr. Robot: You said you wanna own this island and you need my help. So this job interview isn't about my credentials. It's about yours. And like I said, with your operation, I don't know if you could run a White Castle, much less New York. You want me to work for you. It's clear you don't wanna force me into it, which means you gotta start convincing me.
Fernando Vera: Convincing you?
Mr. Robot: Let's not play dumb. If she told you about me, I gotta think she told you about Five/Nine. So you know the things I've done, things I've been able to pull off. I'm not someone you push around with a gun. I am the gun. So yeah, you gotta convince me. Because right now, if this is your master vision, do yourself a favor. Go back to that little shaman of yours and shit some more, because you're clearly still full of it.

Mr. Robot: So let me see if I got this. You wanna get into real estate. Is that it? Is that what all this is about? Is that really your groundbreaking epiphany here? No. That can’t really be it, is it? In your word salad, I heard something about drug dealing. Thing is, Pfizer and Eli are a few billion ahead of you, and they can buy your death with the same half-cent it costs them to make a pill. You wanna get into billboards? Download Photoshop. Make yourself a cute portfolio. Stores, with the debt everyone’s in, I’m sure they’ll gladly give them to you, in which case, you’ll just be owned by their banks. Trains are even more bankrupt and don’t even get me started on the NYPD. Even that blunt you wanna roll is gonna be marked up by Big Tobacco itself. Point is, this city is one big, fat credit card bill, and you wanna pay it, all so you can, what, be another suit with a mortgage?

Mr. Robot: Behind every great fortune, there lies a great crime. That is the corporate motto of these United States. You wanna oink-oink with all the other capitalist pigs? It’s not about how much money. It’s about robbing money itself.

Elliot: Why-why-why-why would he do-
Fernando Vera: There is no why. You weren't the one in control. I know it's hard to go on when you're carrying this around, but you can.
Elliot: How?
Fernando Vera: You don't carry it alone. I'm here with you, bruh.
Elliot: You. You did this. You did this to me.
Fernando Vera: I did it for you!
Elliot: No. No, I don't believe you!
Fernando Vera: I did this because I could see this wound on your face! From the first time I met you, I just wanted to show you the light!
Elliot: This is bullshit!
Fernando Vera: Ain't no bullshit, bruh! The only thing that happened now is you finally faced the truth you've been looking away from your whole life! And now that you know the truth... You can use it. I know 'cause I done it. I been through it. My ma, she used to pass me around to her friends when she'd go out to get high. And let's just say, her friends... They took a lot from me. Your dad, he took a lot from you, too, but he didn't take everything. See, this shit you went through? Most people don't know pain like that. They never will. And if they did, it would end them. But the people who dig in, the ones who keep surviving, those are the ones you can't beat. Those are the ones no one can beat. Because once you've weathered a storm like yours... you become the storm. You hear me? You are the storm. And it's the rest of the world that needs to run for cover. Your power is beautiful, Elliot. It's special. Don't you believe that?
Elliot: I don't know.
Fernando Vera: Do you wanna believe it?
Elliot: I just... I don't wanna be alone anymore.
Fernando Vera: Hey. You're not alone. I see you now.

408 Request Timeout[edit]

Janice: Did you know that cities were created by lightning? It's true. I heard it on a podcast. Villages used to be made of organic materials. Mostly mud, sticks. Then one night about 12,000 years ago, lightning hit a chunk of limestone. Which formed a powder that we now know as...Anyone?
Darlene: [groans] Cement?
Janice: Very smart, Darlene! You're absolutely right. Just think what a different world it would be if that lightning had struck a tree or a puppy instead. But the lightning hit stone, and the people of Turkey awoke to find they were in the cradle of modern civilization, all from one moment of violent convergence. Isn't it wonderful? Destruction can be so productive.

Mr. Robot: The only reason I'm here is to make sure no one ever hurts you. That was supposed to be your father's job, but he failed. He was too weak. [sniffles] But you. You were strong. You fought back... The only way you could. You brought me here, to protect you... From him. I tried to keep you safe. Only show you the memories when the two of you were friends before... I thought I could... store the truth so you'd never have to see it... or feel it. The fact is... I didn't wanna see it either. I made a terrible mistake. I was afraid. Afraid of what this would do to you... To us. This was never my secret to keep. And you deserved better than to live in darkness for so long. I'm so sorry. I failed you too. I understand if you can't forgive me or... If you decide to shut me out for good. Just as long as you know I am not your father. I never was.
Elliot: I know. You're nothing like him. That's why I created you. You're the father I needed, not the father I had.
Mr. Robot: If I could have stopped him. If I could go back in time, change everything that happened to you. Make it all go away.
Elliot: Then I wouldn't be me. And I wouldn't have you.
Elliot: I don't know if I can go through with the hack anymore. I don't know if I can do anything anymore.

409 Conflict[edit]

Mr. Robot: Great. You decided to show. I know. You weren't expecting me. But I'm here for Elliot, same as you. What can you expect after what happened? Life throws you an error code like that, you don't have the luxury of a fucking pop-up explanation. So what are you supposed to do? Move on without answers, or stay down and drive yourself crazy with questions? That's where Elliot's mired in conflict. And that's why I'm here.

Minister Zhang: I was hoping we could talk in person.
Mr. Robot: You once told me that we would never see each other again. What makes you want to see me now?
Minister Zhang: Call it a change of mind. A realization.
Mr. Robot: Nah. If I'm hearing your voice on the other end of this call, I'm good.
Minister Zhang: And what does that mean?
Mr. Robot: You'll know soon enough.
Minister Zhang: A proposal. You stop whatever it is you're planning and I give you information that will prove to be very valuable to you.
Mr. Robot: You think I'm going to trust you?
Minister Zhang: Let me earn your trust by sharing first. It is about your friend. Angela.
Mr. Robot: What about her?
Minister Zhang: You see Elliot, you think Angela's dead. But she's not.
Mr. Robot: You sent me a picture of her dead body you sick fucking fuck.
Minister Zhang: And you believe what most people believe? Only what is right in front of you. I expected more from you.
Mr. Robot: You think I'm gonna believe this bullshit? You killed her. Angela's dead.
Minister Zhang: No Elliot. Angela's alive and if you allow me, I can take you to her. Would you like that Elliot? Would you like to see Angela again? To hear her voice? To hold her hand? (pause) Elliot, are you there?
Elliot: Yes
Minister Zhang: I know you have regrets Elliot and pain. I know there are things in your life that you wish were different, just the same as Angela and I can show you a way you can make it all go away, just as I did for her. You can reset everything and live in the world you deserve, a world without all the pain you carry, without your past, without your regrets. Please Eliot. Let me show you the world that I showed your closest friend.
Elliot: No I saw what you did to her. Before you killed her. That wasn't Angela. You used her. You turned her into someone else.
Minister Zhang: Then don't take my word for it. Ask her yourself. Elliot, we don't have to fight like this anymore. Let's finally make peace with each other as we were always meant to do. Let go of the anger and the hatred you've built up towards me. Understand I've only wished to help.
Elliot: Here's the thing. I don't need help right now. You do.

Minister Zhang: Are you really going to make me force you into the car?
Phillip Price: You know, I almost let myself believe you... When you said Angela was still alive. I know the kind of con man you are, how you operate. Even though I saw your men drag her dead body away. I still wanted to believe what you were saying. When you spoke to Mr. Alderson, I felt the power of your promise. All I could think was, well... maybe that's what my daughter felt when you came to her. The desperation to have all her pain go away, to have her past rewritten, and that's why it works, right? The one thing every person has, regret. You recognize that and then you use that weapon against them, to destroy them. But here's the thing I realized as of late. With Angela, it didn't work. Angela lives on in the lives of people who love her and that love... that love fuels their unwavering resolve to turn the tables to destroy you. So, you just remember, Zhang. You did all this to yourself.
Minister Zhang: You should take your own advice, Phillip. Accept your truth. It's over.

Phillip Price: I warned you. I told you long ago. I'm a mercenary. I rather see you lose than win myself.
Minister Zhang: That can't be.
Phillip Price: Finally, I found a way to take what's most important to you.
Minister Zhang: No, no.
Phillip Price: Your project, your dream of another world. It's as good as dead. Think of it this way, Zhang. You didn't lose the game. You just ran out of time.

eXit[edit]

Elliot: Whiterose isn't dead until her machine is!
Mr. Robot: Since when did her machine become our goal? You don't get it, do you? That's where all of this started! You go down this path, it'll never end. It'll always be something else. Another symbol to destroy, more people to save. This is an endless war. At a certain point, we gotta move on.

Elliot: You don't want to help the world. You want to destroy it. You want to destroy it because you hate people for what they've done to you, and you can't look past that to actually see the good in it.
[A beat, then Whiterose chuckles]
Whiterose: Elliot, please. [She laughs] Don't make me laugh. You think I'm the one that wants to destroy the world? I'm the one that hates people? That can't see the good in it? Look around you. Everywhere we turn, all we see is spite from our so-called "fellow man". Every day we turn on the news, we're constantly told by our leaders, our scientists, our religions that our world is crumbling and that we are the problem. We are the root of everything that is wrong, that we don't stand a chance. We are told this so much that self-hatred is no longer considered an anomaly but a given, and yet you dare point the finger at me when I try to bring order to its chaos? When I have sacrificed everything to make it better?! [She stammers, then laughs again] Please! Don't make me laugh. [She keeps laughing, then calms down] On the contrary, it is my love for people that drives me. It always has been, because I know, deep in every person's heart, they are trying to be good. They were just dealt a bad hand by a world that is unfit for us. So please, don't make me fucking laugh and accuse me of hating people when you, Elliot, wear that hate like a badge of honor! Shall I remind you of your group's name? Admit it. Hatred has been your anthem, not mine.
Elliot: You're right. I hate people. Scared of them. Been scared of them practically my whole life. People I loved... people I trusted... have done their absolute worst to me. And for a long time, that's all I ever knew. So yeah, I called my group fsociety. Because you know what? Fuck society. Society deserves to be hated for everything you said they did, and more. Fuck every last one of them for what we've all been through. But then there are some people out there -- and it doesn't happen a lot. It's rare. But they refuse to let you hate them. In fact, they care about you in spite of it. And the really special ones, they're relentless at it. Doesn't matter what you do to them; they take it. They care about you anyway. They don't abandon you. No matter how many reasons you give them. No matter how much you're practically begging them to leave. And you wanna know why? Because they feel something for me that I can't. They love me. And for all the pain I've been through, that heals me. Maybe not instantly, maybe not even for a long time, but it heals. And yeah, there are setbacks. We do fucked up things to each other. And we hurt each other. And it gets messy. But that's just us, in any world you're in. And yeah, you're right; we're all told we don't stand a chance and yet, we stand. We break, but we keep going. And that is not a fault! It's what makes us! So, no, I will not give up on this world. And if you can't see why, then I speak for everyone when I say "fuck you"!

Whiterose: I have learned to listen when time speaks. Our paths were linked too precisely to this moment for there not to be a reason. This is why. You get to decide.

Elliot: I love you.
Mr. Robot: I love you, too.
[Mr. Robot and Elliot sit in silence as alarms blare around them.]
Mr. Robot: ...it's an exciting time in the world.

Alternate Tyrell: I just wanna know that you're on my side.
Alternate Elliot: Always.

"whoami" (Series Finale, Part One)[edit]

Elliot: Hello, friend. Hello, friend? Wait, you can hear me again? Have you been there this whole time? I was so focused on the hack, I guess I thought you were gone. But after what just happened at the plant, I thought for sure I was gone, too. We're dead, right? There's no way we survived. But if we're dead... then how am I talking to you? And if you're here... then where's Mr. Robot?

Elliot: I know what you're thinking, but don't. That's impossible. Whiterose is out of her fucking mind. Yeah, yeah, I know, so am I. But still. There's no way her machine worked. Right?

Elliot: What do you think? Do you buy any of this? We started out wanting to change the world, but did it happen? Is this the world I fought so hard for? A world free of all the pain I went through? Am I actually considering this could be real?

Elliot: C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, I know I'll find something! He can't be this happy. No one is. Haven't you been paying attention? Everyone has a secret. People are always hiding something. Their vulnerabilities. Their fears. Their shame. I don't care how happy he looks. Everyone has a monster. Question is... what's his?

Elliot: The files on your hidden partition. What are they?
Alternate Elliot: Sometimes, when I get bored, I create people in my head. Like him. Y'know, someone with a more exciting life. Like a superhero. Except his power would be computers.

Elliot: Why did you create this person?
Alternate Elliot: I guess... sometimes, I fantasize about being him.
Elliot: So, you wanna be him?
Alternate Elliot: No, not really. Look at him. He's angry. He has no life. He's alone. He's not normal... Oh, shit, man. I'm sorry.
Elliot: [to the audience] He shouldn't be. He's right. I'm not normal. And I never will be. No matter what world I'm in-
Alternate Elliot: What is that? Did you hear that?
Elliot: What?
Alternate Elliot: It sounded like you were talking to someone.
Elliot: [to the audience] Shit. He can hear us.
Alternate Elliot: There it is again. How are you doing that?

Elliot: Please, don't judge me. This was inevitable. You saw the earthquakes. Both of us can't exist here in this world. I had no other choice.

"Hello, Elliot" (Series Finale, Part Two)[edit]

Elliot: You can't stop this. I'm going to marry Angella. Nothing else matters!
Mr. Robot: Think about what you're saying. Angella is dead.
Elliot: Not in this world.
Mr. Robot: That's not Angella.
Elliot: I talked to her!
Mr. Robot: No, you didn't.
Elliot: I thought things were fine between us, but it's still the same you, isn't it? You just don't want me to be happy! Why can't you just let me have this one thing?!
Mr. Robot: Elliot, you need to listen to me.
Elliot: No! I don't! Not anymore! I'm done listening to you. I just wanna be fucking alone! [Beat] That's... all I've ever really wanted from you.

Mr. Robot: I'm not going anywhere, kiddo.

The Mastermind: Darlene, I'm not Elliot. I'm only a part of him.
Darlene: [sighs] ...I know. I know you're not him. Not the Elliot I grew up with, at least. I've known since we started fsociety. You don't act like him. At first, I thought maybe it was you but different. But then when you forgot who I was again, it wasn't hard to figure it out from there.
The Mastermind: Why didn't you say anything?
Darlene: I don't know. We were hanging out. We were spending time together. It felt like we were finally getting close. I guess I didn't want that to stop.

The Mastermind: Hello, friend. God, that's always been lame, hasn't it? Sorry I never came up with a better name for you. Then again, I don't even have a name. Just a guy trying to play God without permission.
[...}
The Mastermind: This whole time, I thought changing the world was something you did, an act you performed, something you fought for. I don't know if that's true anymore. What if changing the world was just about being here, by showing up no matter how many times we get told we don't belong, by staying true even when we're shamed into being false, by being true to ourselves even when we're told we're too different. And if we all held onto that, if we refuse to budge and fall in line, if we stood our ground for long enough, just maybe... The world can't help but change around us. Even though we'll be gone, it's like Mr. Robot said. We'll always be a part of Elliot Alderson. And we'll be the best part, because we're the part that always showed up. We're the part that stayed. We're the part that changed him. And who wouldn't be proud of that?

The Mastermind: Come on. This only works if you let go too.

Darlene: [Last lines of the show] Hello, Elliot.
