[edit] InterWiki links

How can you link from Wikipedia to Wikiquote without using external links? Neither quote:pagename nor q:pagename work. - fagan

AFAIK you can't. For the time being at least. Kpjas
Well get moving on it! :-). I suppose to be forward looking you'd also want to link to the English Wikiquote... - fagan
Both q: and wikiquote: work now from wikipedia, at least the english one, for example [[Q:Wikiquote:Quote of the day/February 1, 2005|Quote of the day]], and [[:Wikiquote:Virgil]]. Also the Template:Wikiquote {{wikiquote}} will link from a wikipedia article to the wikiquote article with the same name. -Wikibob 00:33, 2 Feb 2005 (UTC)

This isn't the place for it, but I've had a thought. When a new page is created in any wiki (Wikipedia, Wiktionary, other languages, etc), the software could search for the same article in the other wikis and prompt whether you want to add links on each of them to the other. - fagan

I'm not sure it would be very effective, since for the the different languages wikis, articles almost always have different names. It would only be useful between wikipedias <-> wikiquotes and english wikipedia <-> wiktionnary, no ? → SeeSchloss

[edit] Accents

BTW, what is the policy about accents ? Like in Victor Hugo, should we use "On resiste a l'invasion des armees..." or rather "On résiste à l'invasion des armées..." ?

If a word has an accent on it you should ALWAYS use it otherwise the word may not mean the same thing. - fonzy.

OK that's what I would have done, but I thought I should ask anyway. A word without its accents seems empty.
Some of our page titles are missing the accents, like Les Miserables (although I noticed you added a redirect from the accented page) - maybe we should fix them? Nanobug 20:56, 27 Aug 2003 (UTC)
Yes, I added an accent to the link from Victor Hugo and I saw the page didn't exist, so I added it. I think we should add redirections from the accented pages to the unaccented ones that already exist, and maybe the new pages should be created directly with the accents (and maybe add a redirect from the unaccented one, this would be more logical, wouldn't it ?). For now I'll try to hunt the French quotes without their accents, and to find the original one when only the enligsh translated quote is mentionned. → SeeSchloss 13:16, 29 Aug 2003 (UTC)
