The quote you have insisted on deleting is not a "false quote". To delete a widely quoted and sourced quotation, because it isn't found in one particular search format is ridiculous. Googles News "archives" hardly are maintained for a week on many articles, let alone for articles published before the world wide web even existed, and Newsweeks archives of its issues only go back to 1993. The article cited is from 1988. ~ Kalki 10:51, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Source research[edit]

By the way, I see that you got off to a bit of a rocky start. I'm happy to see that you are concerned about proper sourcing, especially of potentially controversial quotes from public figures like George H. W. Bush. It is important to recognize the limitations of source engines (in general as well as the specific issues with specific engines), as Kalki suggests. I myself just tried to find something from Newsweek using an online library database, with no luck. It is always a good idea to get the most original sources possible, so your effort to find that Newsweek article in the library would be greatly appreciated. It's unfortunate that the information we have so far does not give us a page or article title, which would make it much easier to track that source down. If I get a chance, I'll see if I can look it up on one of my library runs, too. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 06:53, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
