- April 27: Wikimedia Board Election process begins.
- April 23: Yehudi is now a sysop. Congrats!
- April 23: Stuart West (w:User:Stu) join Wikimedia Board of Trustees and now the Treasurer. The Board now consists in eight people.
- April: Single user sign-in test begins. Sysops are invited to join the test and fill the bugs they find.
- March 21: English Wikiquote has 15,000 articles. The milestone article is Nicholas Roerich posted by Kalki.
- March 13: Cato is now a checkuser. Congrats!
- March 8: Cato requests for checkuser access.
- February 18: Poetlister is now a bureaucrat. Congrats!
- February 4: Poetlister requests for bureaucrat access.
- January 10: WMF has moved in San Francisco. Erik, who resigned from the Board last December is now Wikimedia Deputy Director.
- January 9: User talk-page change email notification is now enabled.
- January 2008: Happy new year! Jusjih now has an import flag. Discussion on the way to use is ongoing.
- December: Michael Davis and Erik Moeller resigned from Wikimedia Board of Trustees. There replacements are now being sought.
- December: Steward election ended, new stewards promoted. Among Wikiquotians, Jusjih is now a steward. Congrats!
- December: Ubiquity is now a sysop, supported unanimously. Congrats!

- 24 Feb 2007 : Chtit draco is requesting a bot flag for DragonBot. (vote page)
- Dec 2006: French Wikiquote reopened on December 4. They were once closed due to copyvio from an external website and all their contents were once deleted based on agreement between that website owner. Their first article is Bertolt Brecht.
- Oct 2006: Florence Devouard (Anthere) is now the Wikimedia Chair. Jimmy Wales becomes the Wikimedia Chairman Emeritus. Further information is available at wikimedia:Board of Trustees.
- Sept 2006: Elections for the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation: elected Erik Moeller (Eloquence) as replacement of Angela. Result is available on m:Election results 2006.
- April 2006: The Wikimedia Foundation decides to close the French Wikiquote due to copyright infringement from a website. All its content will be once deleted. After clean-up, it may be reopened.
