Carole S. Vance is an anthropologist, specializes in sexuality, human rights, health, gender, medical anthropology, cultures of science and biomedicine, and ethnographic methods.[1]

In 2005, Vance received the Kessler Award from the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies. The award is given to an individual who has contributed significantly to LGBTQ Studies[2]
