Harland David Sanders (9 September 1890 – 16 December 1980), also known as Colonel Sanders, was an American entrepreneur who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken. His image is omnipresent in the chain's advertising and packaging. His name is sometimes used as a synonym for the KFC product or restaurant itself.
