  • "CLASSIC precision bombing featured this attack by 100 B-17s on a Focke-Wulf plant at Marienburg on Oct. 9, 1943. Results (above): two assembly buildings (1) gutted; another (2) damaged; hangars (3) gutted; stores and buildings (4) and boiler house (5) destroyed; other buildings (6) damaged. Cost to AAF: 2 B-17s. Pictures at left show target before (top) and during attack (bottom [5 B-17s]).
