Summary

Description
English: Imaginary drawing in Indian ink of the philosopher Epictetus. From the 1653 book Les Morales d'Epictète, de Socrate, de Plutarque, et de Sénèque, by Jean Desmarets de Saint-Sorlin. The book contains five portraits drawn in Indian ink (l'encre de Chine) by an artist called "Abric." (This is apparently a luxury edition of the book - another version had engravings.)
