Passé au musée des Monuments français. Remis au bibliothécaire de l'Institut le 12 septembre 1803. Donné par l'Institut à Louis-Philippe pour les Galeries historiques de Versailles en 1839. 1850 : aile du Nord, attique, salle 141 dite "des Académiciens". 1855 et 1861 : aile du Midi, attique, salle 152. Mentionné dans l'aile vieille, septembre 1967. Mentionné en réserve, 29 novembre 1971. Dépôt à Paris, Institut de France, Académie française, le 16 mars 1988.
