Foreigner (1977)

[edit]
  • I would climb any mountain,
    Sail across a stormy sea,
    If that's what it takes me, baby
    To show you how much you mean to me.
    And I guess it's just the woman in you
    That brings out the man in me.
    I know I can't help myself,
    You're all in the world to me.

    It feels like the first time;
    Feels like the very first time.

  • You're as cold as ice;
    You're willing to sacrifice our love.
    You never take advice;
    Some day, you'll pay the price
    I know.

    I've seen it before, it happens all the time,
    You're closing the door, you leave the world behind.
    You're digging for gold, yet throwing away
    A fortune in feelings but someday you'll pay.

  • I was inside looking outside
    The millions of faces
    But still I'm alone.
    Waiting, hours of waiting,
    Paying a penance,
    I was longing for home.

    I'm looking out for the two of us;
    I hope we'll be here when they're through with us.

  • Well, I'm hot blooded, check it and see.
    I got a fever of a hundred and three.
    Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
    I'm hot blooded, I'm hot blooded

    You don't have to read my mind, to know what I have in mind.
    Honey you ought to know.
    Now you move so fine, let me lay it on the line:
    I want to know what you're doing after the show.
    Now it's up to you, we can make a secret rendezvous.
    Just me and you, I'll show you loving like you never knew.

  • Feeling down 'n' dirty, feeling kinda mean;
    I've been from one to another extreme.
    This time I had a good time, ain't got time to wait,
    I wanna stick around 'till I can't see straight.

    Fill my eyes with that double vision.
    No disguise for that double vision.
    Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me.
    My double vision gets the best of me.

  • Never do more than I, I really need.
    My mind is racing, but my body's in the lead.
    Tonight's the night, I'm gonna push it to the limit,
    I live all of my years in a single minute.
    • Double Vision
  • Hey, baby, if you're feeling down,
    I know what's good for you all day.
    Are you worried what your friends see?
    Will it ruin your reputation loving me?

    Because I'm a dirty white boy.
    Yeah a dirty white boy.
    A dirty white boy.

  • You make me nervous because the line's engaged,
    I can't believe we let it get to this stage.
    Sitting here waiting for you to give me a sign,
    You know I got my heart on the line.
  • Daylight, alright
    I don't know, I don't know if it's real.
    Been a long night and something isn't right.
    You won't show, you won't show how you feel.
    No time ever seems right
    To talk about the reasons why you and I fight.
    It's high time to draw the line,
    Put an end to this game before it's too late.

    Head games, it's you and me baby.
    Head games, and I can't take it anymore.
    Head games, I don't want to play the
    Head games.

  • Standing in the rain, with his head hung low,
    Couldn't get a ticket, it was a sold out show.
    Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene,
    Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream.
    He heard one guitar, just blew him away.
    He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day
    Bought a beat up six string in a secondhand store.
    Didn't know how to play it, but he knew for sure
    That one guitar felt good in his hands,
    Didn't take long to understand.
    Just one guitar, slung way down low
    Was one way ticket, only one way to go.

    So he started rocking,
    He is never going to stop;
    Got to keep on rocking,br>Someday he's going to make it to the top.

    And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes.
    He's a juke box hero.
    He took one guitar, juke box hero, stars in his eyes.
    Juke box hero, he'll come alive tonight.

  • Made myself a prisoner,
    I locked myself away.
    Can't remember the last time
    I saw the light of day.
    Don't want to face life,
    Feel I've been betrayed.
    I want you tell me
    Where our love went astray.
  • So long, I've been looking too hard, I've waiting too long.
    Sometimes I don't know what I will find.
    I only know it's a matter of time.
    When you love someone,
    When you love someone,
    It feels so right, so warm and true.
    I need to know if you feel it too.
    Maybe I'm wrong,
    Won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong?
    This heart of mine has been hurt before,
    This time I want to be sure.
  • You're not shy, you get around;
    You want to fly, don't want your feet on the ground.
    You stay up, you won't come down;
    You want to live, you want to move to the sound.
  • I thought I knew you well,
    But all this time I could never tell.
    I let you get away,
    Haunts me every night and every day.
    You were the only one,
    The only friend that I counted on.
    How could I watch you walk away?
    I'd give anything to have you here today.
    But now I stand alone with my pride,
    And dream that you're still by my side.

    But that was yesterday.
    I had the world in my hands.
    But it's not the end of my world,
    Just a slight change of plans.

  • I got to take a little time,
    A little time to think things over.
    I better read between the lines,
    In case I need it when I'm older.
    Now this mountain I must climb
    Feels like a world upon my shoulders.
    I through the clouds I see love shine,
    It keeps me warm as life grows colder.
  • In my life there's been heartache and pain.
    I don't know if I can face it again.
    Can't stop now, I've traveled so far,
    To change this lonely life.

    I want to know what love is;
    I want you to show me.
    I want to feel what love is;
    I know you can show me.

    • I Want to Know What Love Is
  • He's come a long way in life;
    He's got a long way to go.
    He don't even know, he don't care because
    He's growing up the hard way.
    In and out of trouble every day,
    Growing up the hard way.
    Now no telling where you'll end up, boy.
  • Some people stay all alone and hide,
    They don't even want to know the reason why.
    They've given up on finding someone new.
    But new love comes, it's going to come for you.
    When true love comes, it's going to comfort you.
  • Say you will, say you won't
    Make up your mind tonight.
    Say you do, say you don't
    Want to be mine.
  • I find myself in a strange situation
    And I don't know how.
    What seemed to be an infatuation
    Is so different now.
    I can't get by if we're not together.
    Ooh can't you see?
    Girl, I want you now and forever
    Close to me.
