Unidentified episodes

[edit]

I restructured the headings of this article to more closely follow the intent of the standard "Unknown episode" heading of TV shows, which is their version of "Unsourced" (aka "Attributed"). When someone can identify a partial source in other types of articles, they typically add such information in a source line under the quote. The unique nature of 24 makes it possible to group such partially-sourced quotes into days (seasons) and remove the clutter of redundant source lines, since much of the cast changes between seasons, frequently making the appropriate season obvious.

This splitting of the unknown-ep quotes had been done earlier by placing the sections under the appropriate days, but that missed the intention of "Sourced" vs. "Unsourced", which can be summarized by the simplistic idea:

Everything in "sourced" is good; everything is "Unsourced" is bad.

That is, everything above the "Unsourced" (or equivalent) heading should be considered useful quotes; anything below it is mere rumor. For that reason, anything that can't easily be found (and therefore readily verified) should be grouped at the bottom. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:06, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Standard headings

[edit]

This show is a pain in the posterior for identifying episodes, since every single "title" is merely a 1-hour time span, half of them are identical to the other half except for "am" or "pm", and each "title" is reused each season, but with a different order. Because of this, I've added a complete set of episode headings for the five extant seasons. The "titles" are italicized, per the current Wikiquote:Templates/TV shows, and each has a episode number that allows the complete heading to be unique for each show.

Because this creates a huge table of contents for an article that is still fairly sparsely populated, I see a real need for a custom TOC in the near future, even though this is an ongoing series. One advantage is that we know an entire season's "titles" the moment the first episode begins (i.e., when we discover the first starting time, giving us the other consecutive 23), so it only requires a once-a-year effort to expand the TOC. I might do this myself if no one else wants to implement it. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 05:57, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
