Saeb Erekat

Saeb Erekat (also Erikat or Erakat or Arekat; صائب عريقات Ṣāʼib ʻUrayqāt or ʻRēqāt; born 28 April 1955 – 10 November 2020) was the Palestinian chief of the PLO Steering and Monitoring Committee until 12 February 2011. He negotiated the Oslo Accords with Israel and remained chief negotiator from 1995 until May 2003, when he resigned in protest from the Palestinian government. He later reconciled with the party and was reappointed to the post in September 2003.
