Adding captioned images[edit]

  • I could use some help with getting images added to this page. Wikimedia has several of King, and of the Naval Academy seal that I tried to add to the page with a caption, but frankly I have no idea how that stuff works.--AC9016 (talk) 17:39, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Take a look at what I changed - you were close. When using an image from Commons, just use its name, rather than a full link. If you're still not sure, let me know. ~ UDScott (talk) 18:06, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Tried it again, the way you suggested. Instant success! You have my gratitude. Thank you so much for your help. --AC9016 (talk) 18:57, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced King quotes[edit]

  • The mark of a great shiphandler is never getting into situations that require great shiphandling.
  • Hold what you've got and hit them where you can.
  • Nothing remains static in war or military weapons, and it is consequently often dangerous to rely on courses suggested by apparent similarities in the past.
  • If a ship has been sunk, I can't bring it up. If it is going to be sunk, I can't stop it. I can use my time much better working on tomorrow's problem than by fretting about yesterday's. Besides, if I let those things get me, I wouldn't last long.
